I was giddy during that exchange.

“You don’t know why, but I know”

Genuine interest in what he meant.

Joe doesn’t know anymore.

55
Proud_American 55 points ago +55 / -0

What if the inference means there’s something negative about Obama that we don’t know?

I highly doubt it, but it’s a possibility. If something damaging to Obama was going to come out, the Biden campaign wouldn’t want the endorsement.

59
Modus_Pwninz 59 points ago +59 / -0

If that were the case, Biden wouldn't even be running. His entire platform is going to be "I was that clean black guy's friend, man. Come on."

48
Proud_American 48 points ago +49 / -1

I think he’s running because they don’t want to ruin the young political careers of any of their other horses. Trump is going to absolutely demolish whomever they put up. I think they are letting ol’ Joe take one for the team.

My greatest joy during our collective home staycation is watching GETOUS play 4D chess. He's hinted at something before that I think is an Obama chess move.

We are going to see the greatest political show of all time in the run up to the November election.

7
JohnMiller2020 7 points ago +7 / -0

8
Opinionated_Ocelot 8 points ago +8 / -0

Might be referring to "the most corrupt administration in history" quote?

6
DrBJTester 6 points ago +6 / -0

I'll have to find it and that's going to be challenging. The paraphrase is Obama has a problem and that's why he has been silent. This was during the FISA warrant part of peach mints.

He's done it before and it's been awesome foreshadowing. If memory serves this was about the FISA warrant being altered by the FBI.

This is going to get fun!

66
Thenew23rd 66 points ago +66 / -0

As Obama's second term was coming to a close, he wanted to be like Reagan and be so popular that he in effect got a third term. Reagan's VP went on to win the next election [and squandered it]. Obama favored Hillary to continue his legacy and actually asked Joe not to run.

Four years later Obama's VP is the Dem nominee...and Obama still hasn't endorsed him

I get the feeling the problem runs a little deeper than Ukraine.

It wasn't an impeachable request. The Democrats abused their power and the Trump hating press let them get away with it.

23
MaxineWaters4Prez 23 points ago +23 / -0

I'm wondering what the fuck could be more damning than elected officials funneling American taxpayer money to a foreign country then laundering that money to their friends and family. That alone should be prison for decades.

The horrifyingly careless and wanton disregard for classified information... That should be immediate removal from office, and harsh prison sentences, if not gallows for treason.

The gay prostitute murders? The pizzagate connections? The sale of office to corporations?

What could be a higher crime than what they've all gotten away with?

I'm itching to find out.

All of these accusations are accurate. Everything is connected. Clinton's are linked to drug cartels and human trafficking all over the place including through the mafia. Ukraine oddly keeps coming up in the weirdest places the more I look into things. Keep "The Fellowship" or "The Family" in mind as well. This is not D vs R. This is the swamp. It's a very large and deep swamp.

6
IAmNotSuicidal 6 points ago +6 / -0

And the gall to impeach a president over what Biden actually did, all while the "outbreak" of the century happened. Not gonna lie, but all this feels suspect. You could argue no one knew but...maybe there was a reason the impeachment process was so speedy.

“Joe you don’t have to do this”

-Obama

21
Thenew23rd 21 points ago +21 / -0

Good quote.

Another thing. Why IS it taking Obama forever to write his presidential memoir? Maybe he's just undisciplined and likes to choom. Maybe Trump is destroying his legacy so fast he doesn't know from one month to the next what to include in the book.

Now I'm wondering if he knows something about Biden. Obviously he couldn't mention it if Biden is the Dem nominee. But he might be inclined to include it if Joe blows this chance to salvage Obama's legacy.

We shall see.

4
Tellsyouhow 4 points ago +4 / -0

He's busy spending his payoff money from book deal advances and Netflix

2
Thenew23rd 2 points ago +3 / -1

He's definitely not busy writing the book. It's been reported that it's running 'late.' How about he's not writing it at all. (I don't know this. I'm just guessing. But a year ago many leftists speculated the book would come out in 2020. Since then, silence. That's not how publishers create buzz if an actual book is expected to be launched.)

2
inquimouse 2 points ago +2 / -0

The book no-show is telling, even if it was just a deal for money laundering, his ghost writers could have made an effort. Heck, Amazon is already full of books about corona virus, pandemics, even as sci fi novels. Takes no time at all to crank out.

1
Thenew23rd 1 point ago +2 / -1

Yes, that's the part that has me wondering. You can pay a lot of ghostwriters with half of 65 million. Even if Obama is disorganized and unfocused, a paid writing team should have been able to put a nice little hagiography together by now.

One of my theories is that Obama dreads the writing style being compared to Dreams from my Father. Bill Ayers ghost wrote that one, though Obama claimed he wrote it himself.

Then Obama put out Audacity of Hope, and anybody with eyes in their head should have seen through the scam. Audacity is a clunky, wordy, trite, boring piece of literary crap. A bright fourth grader could see that Dreams and Audacity were from 100% different authors.

Still Obama's media whores couldn't help themselves. I read articles predicting that Obama churn out the greatest presidential memoir of all time. They couldn't wait.

Imagine the position that put Obama in. He can't write his way out of a wet paper bag. So does he hire a ghostwriter and tell him to emulate the style of Dreams?

Easier said than done. One doesn't have to admire Ayers' style to see that it's very distinctive. The average ghostwriter would screw up big trying to copy it.

Anyway, that's a long winded theory on yet another reason Obama can't publish anything. He's a total phony and a memoir in a completely different style from Dreams might finally give the game away.

1
inquimouse 1 point ago +1 / -0

My theory (having done a little ghostwriting myself): A good writer could take the various analyses done of the previous books and not only mimic the style of either, but make a "bridge" style that would further obscure previous contradictions. More important might be the content. I suspect Zero of being involved in so much shady activity, having so many crooked connections, that a biographer couldn't document more than the White House menu for two days without getting into some area of vulnerability.

1
Thenew23rd 1 point ago +2 / -1

Appreciate the input. I'm sticking with the Ayers' style being fairly difficult to emulate.

Ayers' style isn't just literary. It's a lifelong attitude that he translates into prose.

For example, Ayers hates anything traditionally American. He particularly hates the white middleclass.

Otoh he pretty much worships disenfranchised radical black youths. His opportunity to write Dreams allowed him to vicariously become the individual he admires most.

I will never concede that all of Bill Ayers' particular fetishes coming together in one book could be replicated. Even a good ghostwriter would fall on his face trying.

1
Thenew23rd 1 point ago +2 / -1

Just one more post on the subject.

Here's the opener for Dreams, emphasis mine.

A FEW MONTHS AFTER MY twenty-first birthday, a stranger called to give me the news. I was living in New York at the time, on Ninety-fourth between Second and First, part of that unnamed, shifting border between East Harlem and the rest of Manhattan.  It was an uninviting block, treeless and barren, lined with soot-colored walk-ups that cast heavy shadows for most of the day. The apartment was small, with slanting floors and irregular heat and a buzzer downstairs that didn't work, so that visitors had to call ahead from a pay phone at the corner gas station, where a black Doberman the size of a wolf paced through the night in vigilant patrol, its jaws clamped around an empty beer bottle.

None of this concerned me much, for I didn't get many visitors. I was impatient in those days, busy with work and unrealized plans, and prone to see other people as unnecessary distractions. It wasn't that I didn't appreciate company exactly. I enjoyed exchanging Spanish pleasantries with my mostly Puerto Rican neighbors, and on my way back from classes I'd usually stop to talk to the boys who hung out on the stoop all summer long about the Knicks or the gunshots they'd heard the night before. When the weather was good, my roommate and I might sit out on the fire escape to smoke cigarettes and study the dusk washing blue over the city, or watch white people from the better neighborhoods walk their dogs down our block to let the animals shit on our curbs -- "Scoop the poop, you bastards!" my roommate would shout with impressive rage, and we'd laugh at the faces of both master and beast, grim and unapologetic as they hunkered down to do the deed.

I enjoyed such moments -- but only in brief. If the talk began to wander, or cross the border into familiarity, I would soon find reason to excuse myself. I had grown too comfortable in my solitude, the safest place I knew. ....

Notice how subtly the hatred of the white bourgeoisie is handled. The bastards had it coming for using the POC neighborhood as a lavatory for their dogs. Leftists loved it because it reinforced all their stereotypes. And whether or not readers were aware of it, the disenfranchised 'us,' of the young POCs vs the 'them,' of middleclass whites is a defining theme of the book.

You can't tell a ghostwriter to replicate that. It wouldn't play, coming from a former POTUS. But without it the key ingredient of Dreams is lost.

1
inquimouse 1 point ago +1 / -0

You are talking about themes and subtext, I am talking about style which is more superficial and recognizable, things like sentence structure and adjectives, the rhythm of the words, the emotional triggers. Dreams is very well written that way. People see the style patterns immediately, good writing even with hateful content keeps the reader going, the themes are deployed thus and accepted a little better. Both style and themes have been extensively studied for Dreams, e.g. https://www.bing.com/search?q=style+of+dreams+from+my+fathers&PC=SMSM&FORM=MBDPSB. Audacity of Hope was a relative flop except to expose the massive style difference. I agree Dreams is very laden with anti-white themes. And that would still totally fly with some people, those themes are being recast daily by the Dems for everything in the news. And I maintain that it would be quite possible to categorize his themes too, e.g. how he admired the way Africans were standing up against oppression by taking white farms, how our debt to the Iranians required pallets of cash for honor, and put it all in Ayers style. Still anti-white, anti-west. But in general, a President's memoirs ought to be about his tenure. Besides finding race all over the world, what is he going to say about economic policies--associates--allies--foreign policy that isn't fraught with danger? The world he made is not only unraveling, it is turning up corruption that is going to touch him. What content on 2015-2016 is going to explain the DoJ corruption? What contrast of the financial resets of 2009 is going to look good against Trumpeconomics? How about his work on green energy that made his cronies rich? Where is the poetic face he can put on eight years of bombing people for no gain? What about Michelle's bloated staff and thinly disguised excursions at great expense, where are the offsetting accomplishments? It isn't the hateful mindset that's the problem in documenting his terms because there is apparently still an admiring audience for that. It's the truthiness of what he says.

That's a real possibility. In fact, hard to imagine Joe could have been in general proximity of two young girls for eight years without helping himself to a sniff.

Yep, its weird, you pick the best person to replace you in case it becomes necessary. He obviously felt that way for 8 years. Joe didnt want it in 2016, and im sure he didnt want it now. Hes there to tee up someone else. You know its coming.

0
Thenew23rd 0 points ago +1 / -1

Even if Joe wants it he's unlikely to get it. He's churning out more and worse word salad. In tightly controlled interviews he still can't focus on a train of thought. He needs to get out of the race and prioritize his health. The DNC will be happy to select his replacement.

2
Choomguy 2 points ago +2 / -0

Its crazy. Ive seen trump talk in person way before he ever ran. The guy can talk off the cuff for hours without a single slip, lost train of thought, umm, eh, etc. And they called him stupid, crass, and a whole host of other stuff.

Now they rally around a guy who seriously cant carry a sentence.

"girl"

3
sun_wolf 3 points ago +3 / -0

This was an actual girl. There are a lot of pictures of them together. Her real name isn’t “Wendy” either. Apparently that was Obama’s pet name for her. Just all around weird shit. But as for his sexuality, I think Obama is bisexual. Obviously he likes having sex with men like Larry Sinclair, who was killed after exposing his affair with him, but we have also seen Obama flirting with that one blonde woman at Mandela’s funeral, so I think he is one of those weirdos who will fuck anything. Anything? Anything.
