Ok, here's his theory: In January Trump knows that this virus will only take 30,000 lives, so he puts together a team of experts and tells his experts to hype the shit out of Bill Gates' death predictions. Trump knows the predictions are overblown from the start and tells everyone to remain calm. Trumps 4D chess move, apparently, was that he knew the media would whip the country into a frenzy in order to make him look bad, and once Americans were convinced by the media that they were all going to die, they would see the real numbers and falsely believe that Trump let the country successfully through the crisis.
According to Chris fucking Hayes and MSNBC, that is a more plausible explanation of what just happened.
