We've made a number of changes to Win since the last update post on April 5th.
- if you sent a message, it'll now show as "to <recipient>" rather than "from <you>", as it wasn't possible to tell who you sent a message to.
- when collapsing a comment thread, if it goes out of view, you'll be scrolled back to the comment that you just collapsed (so if you're far down a comment thread and collapse it, you won't jump past a lot of comments that you haven't seen yet)
- fixed an issue where the site would render without CSS, then again with CSS
- clicking the title of a link post (no embed) from a listing will now take you to the post, rather than to the off-site destination.
- fixed issue (hopefully) where /new and /top of all time would rarely get mixed up briefly (caching issue)
- fixed 'unread' inbox style in dark mode
- fixed comments inbox style in dark mode
- stability improvements for thumbnail scraper
- fixed mp4 issue for logged in users where it would display an iframe overlaying the video element.
The biggest change in this batch is the ability to save comments, as well as the ability to save to folders. Previously, we only supported saving posts, and there was no folder functionality.
Now when you click save on either a post or a comment, you'll see an overlayed window where you can select an existing folder (there are three default placeholders) or create a new one. You will then be able to access those save folders at the same location as before, /saved.
Update: To unsave a comment or post, you'll have to go through the saving process again, since posts and comments can be in multiple folders simultaneously. You'll see a slightly different icon to the far right which represent "add to folder" and "remove from folder", depending on if it's already in that folder.
Leave your feedback, bug reports, and suggestions in the comments. Upvote the suggestions that you agree with most. We'll use this as an indicator of what's most important.

This is already supported via profiles, on the sidebar. Less obvious on mobile.
For research purposes (all mobile users' answers are welcome)... did you know there was a sidebar? Just didn't know there was an extra bit on the sidebar on profiles?
There's more issues with the sidebar than just profiles, like how many users don't know there's a search bar, so I assume they have never opened the sidebar at all. I'm not sure how to handle this. Could users be trying to swipe to open a sidebar, and concluding there isn't one when it doesn't open? Suggestions are welcome.
I knew there was a sidebar from clicking on the hamburger, but assumed it was static. I didn't know it changes to show additional info when you are on a user's profile. (I see where you are translating the desktop design)
Maybe the icon could be an arrow that flips right/left depending on whether the menu is open. (hinting at the sliding nature) The ability to drag from the right to pull it out would be really sweet on mobile also.

Click the user, then click top right icon of 3 lines that look like a hamburger. Pulls open sidebar to show you user upvotes.

I made "coronovirus cure" and "fake news proofs" folders, so much easier to redpill with laser-precision with sources if you don't have open your Saved section and it looks an unorganized swamp.

On reddit, you can highlight text in a comment and when you hit reply, that text appears, already quoted in the reply box.

Yeah that could be neat. Problem is you could possibly dilute the user pool of the main .win There's also the constant issue of Reddit where subs end up with loser mods and things turn into r/redacted

The new Folders for Saved posts is the best!
Now we will be 10x as efficient when pulling up important information we've saved. I can't describe how many times I've known I saved something good yet can't find it through my extensive saved list. This may be the best feature yet.

I like the sound of that, "subwins." I'm sure they have, they are on their "A" game perfecting the site as it is. I've been here since the beginning and the improvements have been insane. I was wondering why it was taking so long for the save comments feature. You were making something FAR BETTER THAN REDDIT!

Chat or LiveThread feature
We would really like some way to update threads during the daily briefings and other livestream type events. Right now we have to manually refresh to see new comments and that probably taxes the servers unnecessarily.
Some kind of AutoRefresh mode that can be enabled only for perhaps Sticky posts, which would dynamically load New comments at the top of the page when they are posted.
Alternately, some kind of chat function so that perhaps during the event we can chat using some kind of webchat applet and then return to normal posting when the event has ended (again, could be tied to sticky status or manually enabled by mods)
(I know there's a Discord but nobody uses it and Discord as a company has a history of shutting down conservative servers.)
I've been thinking about a live thread mode for a bit, I think it'll be coming soon.

Like have the img link clickable to expand the image. This way we can keep it fast and have comment images on demand.
My tablet auto rotates and rescales the screen if I turn i,t so the page is always rightside up. When in landscape mode, the hot-new-rising-top tabs are there and if I turn to portrait they disappear. I only noticed that today.
Can we get a comment parent button? So we know what people are replying to in long chains?
It does cause miscommunication, and bad vibes, and that turns people away that would otherwise probably be very good contributors.
I can follow the left sidebar to see who is responding to who, and often I'll start my post with their screen name to try to avoid confusion. But when I don't man some heated exchanges have been caused by this!
So yeah some way of clarifying it would help.

I'm on Brave bowser on a PC, going to /saved/Other/ and there are my saved posts. The only option is "save" which lets me pick a folder. It used to just toggle between save and saved, now it pulls up the folder select either way.
(I don't mean to be a whiner, I love the site and what you've been doing.)

One feature I've always enjoyed on Reddit (or maybe it's part of the Reddit Enhancement Suite plugin?) is whenever a user starts to type a username that's present in the the thread with
u/xyz, it provides a sort of quick-list of suggested names. Often, it's first choice is the right one, and the user can just hit <tab> to have it auto-complete.That, and +friends. I've always enjoyed being able to +friend people, which allows you to see all of their content in one giant chronological page.
So if I add Doggos, Ivaginaryfriend, and zettapede as +friends, I can go to a special +friends page/thread and see all of their submissions and comments mixed together in chronological order.
How mad is spez at this place? Did it foil or speed his plans on TD?

I think a lot of people are getting fed up with the constant censorship on reddit and having a ecosystem like that could draw tons of people.
The only problem with defining ourselves as "free speech" is then we're subject to being brigaded or even swamped by leftards. We're a Trump rally. It will be nice when we get DonJrs, to be able to organize posts via different topics. For example we have a lot of Burnouts coming here at certain times, and some people just don't want to see it. Others want to embrace them, take the time to redpill them, and see what makes them tick.

Why does the first page keep on scrolling? Instead of having to go to the next page? The Problem with that is its hard to keep your place when you click on a threat, it never brings you back to where you were, so if I am like 4 or 5 pages in {on the first page} it starts back at the top and is really frustrating.
Why can't we get the pages to be a certain length, then we have to go to PAGE 2 ?
You can, look in settings and turn off endless scrolling.

Listen fat, the MOTIVES UNCLEAR flair was for posts, whereas the AMERICA FIRST flair was for usernames. MOTIVES UNCLEAR flair was used for any post that reported anything to do with the insidious ongoing Islamic jihad happening around the world. As you probably guessed by my username, I used to post a few of those. I still do, but I used to too.
I guess I always saw Islamic goals as having a perfectly clear motive. To be a Muslim means taking Muhammad as a lifelong role model. He was a thief, slave trader, rapist, kidnapper, human trafficker, and mass murderer.

This may be sacrilegious and maybe I'm the only person who wants it but can we move the upvote button to the right side of the screen? This has always bothered me about reddit since I began using mobile a lot more than on the computer which was probably a few years back. Most people are right handed, I hold my phone and scroll with my right hand, to upvote I have to extend my thumb all the way over to the left and hit the button, especially if I'm laying on my left arm or something. I know a lot of people probably are used to it being on the leftside, I just think for the vast majority of us who are rightys, it may be better to have it on the right side. Or have an option to switch it to the right side?
Honestly. I like the sound of that or at least an option with it toggled off by default and we can decide. Upvoting this!
