As I understand it incapacity or resignation(dropping out) would release the delegates. They'd jump to whoever the superdelegates anointed, I would think. Biden dropping now would be a shitshow.

How can they do anything else other than stuck with him? If he's won the preliminary votes do they not have to run with him?
If not, since Bernie came second do they not have to go with him instead of a third party? (I know there is no chance of that)
