The screwed up stuff I was referring to is the amount of Democrats that slither into office. Laura Kelly became governor only because the "independent" Greg Orman split the republican gubernatorial vote. Also there were 3 republican state representatives that flipped parties as after they won.
You are partially correct. There was a huge blowback from Brownback's incompetence. (I was a fan of budget cuts but he refused to control spending). I think there were a lot of fiscally responsible people that thought it would continue under Kobach. Too bad Kobach had to follow Brownback
