I still think he heavily played down his potential involvement because he thought she was a shit show. He could have easily put him and his husband’s dick of approval on the whole thing the entire way through, been in all the ads, etc. Really ride out the last administration into the new one. But he mostly did last minute damage control attempts.
If Trump’s son ran in 2024, I think Trump would still be all over it because it’d help the campaign. Obama, to me, seems like he just jumped in just enough at the end to not piss off his party.

I agree. Obama knew Hilary was a complete dumpster fire. He just didn't want Trump to win and undo his (shitty) legacy.
