I don't have the link right now... But when I was searching for info, I found out that in the 70 year history of the drug, there has only been 4 cases of cardiac toxicity. Four.

The cardiac issue is with azithromycin. There is a condition that is contraindicated.

I'm not an MD, but the condition apparently shows up on an EKG, and azithromycin makes it worse.

But not a problem for everyone who takes azithromycin. Allergic to Penicillin, I've taken azithromycin for decades, no issues.

There's a Long Island nursing home doctor who substituted doxycycline (also antibiotic and anti inflammatory, but no cardiac side effects) for Zpac and also got good outcomes.
