Thank you. This is beyond huge. 0.5% mortality is already way lower but then they were all 74 years or older.

OMG this shit might work better than I even hoped.

God fucking damn. Can't wait to shove this in the face of my smug friends who went on about how irresponsible it was of Trump to mention it might help. In your fucken faces. Sorry. I'm passionate about this. It upends the entire lockdown process which is very very very important to many people I care about.

But muh lupus patients need their prescriptions and muh rheumatoid arthritis patients and Dr. Fauci needs more research and triple blind studies performed only on Thursdays

So it's awful and unproven and deadly but if you have Lupus or arthritis and can't get it for a day, your life is ruined.

The bigger lie is that Trump said it helps and then the supply got hoarded. No. The media said that but we have zero proof. One story of a person we've never met who called several pharmacies before finding some. Big deal. Probably a total fabrication.

Who's hoarding? That was my question when half wit banned the use or prescription in Michigan.

Great point, I saw the 99.5% cure rate, and thought well that must imply a 0.5% death rate, which is possibly the norm overall. For a group of people 74+ .5% is about 1/5 the norm.

If I'm reading this right, average age of subjects was 43.6 Looks like the 5 subjects who died were age 74+

They say .5% death rate is a big improvement over the other patients in the same hospital.

yes. Would be great to see some numbers on the outcomes of the other patients. Also to see the inclusion and exclusion criteria.

Sorry to disappoint you, but your smug friends don't care about facts, just about narratives, and nothing will change their opinion about trump.

Oh I know. TDS really is an apt name for a real disease.

But there are things that can be so obvious that they at least have to sit with a blank stare for a full 3 seconds before they try to divert and change the subject. Like a temporary blue screen of death.

My mom stopped talking to me over this a few weeks ago after i told her about Trump's first mention of hydroxychloroquine (it had been around on the internet for a while but all she does is watch CNN so she obvi had never heard of it). Her latest now is that "remdesivir" looks promising bc they treated that one Asian guy in Washington a few months ago. I was like sure, the newer failed ebola drug that would be under patent, Gilead would love to pawn it off on another disease and make $$$. Can't wait to send this one to her. She literally won't admit this is working bc Trump said it. She'd rather have ppl die than this work.

It's really sad.
