He was in a tough position similar to Fujimori in Peru. Allende was also horrible and would have destroyed the country causing more violence and famine. This was a war. I agree he went too far and did many things wrong, but he also saved the country. Right now there are leftists trying to destroy it again. They are rioting and beating people up and looting and destroying businesses. Apparently the virus has pushed them back for now. For many reasons I do not believe in torture and much of what he did, but he also stepped down. Trying to go after him after stepping down sets a precendent that peacefully returning a country to democracy is a bad idea. These things get very complicated and are frequently portrayed as black and white. For me the worst part is the CIA involvement.
