That brush is too broad - the Catholic church has done a lot of good for centuries and has a lot of good people in it, to brand them all with the actions of the bad apples is a bit much. Kind of like working for a huge international company and then being accused of the same crime as some corrupt people who sit on the board that you've never even met. The problem here is lack of understanding of Islam - that just because they call something "god" doesn't make it the same person being worshiped and that they don't even regard infidels as fully human. Also the priest should have vetted what was going to be spoken and required it be in the local dialect not in Arabic.
