Cities in MN (I do not want to doc myself) are already informing residents that due to the shutdowns we are missing out on revenue from sales tax, etc. Therefore, our property taxes will be going up significantly to cover those losses.
Um, many are out of work and can barely pay rent and now you want to raise property taxes? There won’t be any money for people to pay those taxes with, because they are legally not allowed to work at their jobs.
Taxin Timmy wants socialism and he wants it now. Completely burdening the tax paying class and indefinite lockdown is how he's going to do it. I hate how people here think he's doing such a great job too, he treats us like fucking children and half the populace just eats it up.
Should these funds not be made up by the "emergency fund" or "rainy day fund" that every government level should have in their annual budget?
But then, to government, everything is an emergency, so when real emergencies happen, the government has no money left. And we still vote these corrupt local politicians back in.
You would think they would have a rainy day fund, but it looks like they are still going to increase our property taxes, because that's how they love to treat families.
