If it is for non-virus patients, then why the hell would they even be in the regular hospital in the first place, but not be here, unless the use of this facility is more nuance than just general hospital patients?
I think they were counting on COVID-19 patients needing more of the equipment in the real hospital and so they would designate the real hospital as COVID-19 and treat non-COVID patients in the field hospital, which is a fully-functioning hospital minus the large equipment.
I’m impressed with the federal governments handling of this situation. They are deploying similar field hospitals where they might be needed BEFORE they are needed.
FEMA showed up to my local hospital and helped set up a rehab facility as 125 extra hospital beds and moved the rehab programs to a local gym that is currently closed.
I don’t think we will have to use it. But it’s nice to see the government supporting us and being proactive here.
This is good news. Fewer Americans died than expected, and hospitals were less overwhelmed. Better too many resources than too few. Good that they're releasing these resources for use in the next hotspot.
