There’s another dirty trick we have to watch out for when making purchases and that’s countries that buy products from China and slap their own label on it before sending it off to the boats.

Buy American! Make your own shit. Stop buying crap you don’t need.

Shroudedf8 31 points ago +31 / -0

Yeah, as well as "Assembled in the US!!!!!!!
. . . . from foreign parts".

24
Evei 24 points ago +24 / -0

There are hundreds, if not thousands of front companies in the US that are nothing more than legal loopholes that allow Chinese companies to sell their shit products as "Made in the USA".

11
AllAmericanAdonis 11 points ago +11 / -0

All they have to do is assemble one last part here.

10
ChicomUberAlles 10 points ago +10 / -0

and that part is the label

This also allows them to trade on our stockmarket. This is the way in which they have stollen billions from us through scam ventures.

How can we avoid the commie scum?

isitmadeinchina 16 points ago +16 / -0

I am on a short holiday and I started putting this together: https://isitmadeinchina.miraheze.org/wiki/Main_Page

I believe this is the best angle of attack on the China communists: Assisting consumers in choosing non-communist, non-genocide supporting, non-environment destroying products.

I don't have much spare time for research and writing but it's a start and I'll keep working on it. I have not managed a wiki before but I'd love to have someone assist in filling it with more articles or just give some tips and pointers.

stratocaster_patriot 7 points ago +7 / -0

I think you are doing a great service here. Hope it picks up steam and doesn't get taken down.

Kenwood is an interesting one. I won't say much but I work for someone who does business with an Italian company. One of the bigshots at the Italian company left and then took all of the knowledge of our products with him to China to teach them how to buid our stuff. Don't trust the fucking Italians either for the most part.

I went out of my way to find a Made in the US cast iron skillet last week. Found one made by Lodge in South Pittsburg, Tennessee. It was interesting looking at the reviews how many people are asking in the questions about where things are made now. Nearly all of the skillets I found were made in China, which kind of surprised me. I normally think of China products being mostly electronics and plastic shit.

6
slrpnls 6 points ago +6 / -0

Lodge is the only major US manufacturer of skillets but there are some smaller ones popping up. Lodge also makes carbon steel, which are also good.

Just be wary that Lodge's enameled stuff is Chinese. You're better off buying Staub or Le Creuset (both made in France) or going with a bare iron dutch oven.

3
Saiburx 3 points ago +3 / -0

The Field Company is what I use. A bit pricey but the surface is very smooth and nice! I think for cast iron it’s pretty easy to find made in America. It’s the non stick that are all made in China. Even Le Creuset non sticks are made in China. However I avoid using non sticks after learning about all the health problems with it.

1
slrpnls 1 point ago +1 / -0

Honestly after getting carbon steel (which Lodge also makes in the US but the big names are French) I don't need nonstick any more.

2
Block_Helen 2 points ago +2 / -0

Or buy a good used pan. I got a pretty old one for $7 at a garage sale. Lightweight, seasoned, works beautifully.

2
slrpnls 2 points ago +2 / -0

I have some vintage pans and some new pans. If you can find a good used one, by all means pick it up. If you want a new one, get a Lodge.

2
Block_Helen 2 points ago +2 / -0

You inspired me to get down my old pan and do some more research on it. I think it's a first series Erie! From the 1880s. http://www.castironcollector.com/erie.php

It has the "scoop" handle. Might be regional knockoff but it hits all the Erie boxes.

spezhatesgays 6 points ago +6 / -0

Amazon is the worst. Every time I gotta go to the questions section to see if anyone asked where it was made.

2
stratocaster_patriot 2 points ago +2 / -0

And if you find that then you have to trust it isn't some bot or person lying to you.

2
redditadminssuckit [S] 2 points ago +4 / -2

Brilliant

2
Block_Helen 2 points ago +2 / -0

Amazon wouldn't allow it.

3
stratocaster_patriot 3 points ago +3 / -0

They would if several million people refused to buy from Amazon without it.

2
Block_Helen 2 points ago +2 / -0

True, I hope.

2
Sigma 2 points ago +2 / -0

Jeff Cuckzos would never allow it.

Yep. Something liberals would not have tolerated in the least just 30 or 40 years ago. Now you stand up to China and they call you a racist. Such is the nature of progressive. Must be hard keeping straight what they believe. I'm glad my opinion don't chane everyday or that I am forced to change them to stay on the team.

Make America Make Again! For real though, I noticed a few years ago that Walmart brand items, mainstays were being moved towards being manufactured in the US and clearly labeled as such. Now, I had historically hated Walmart in my teen years. It was around probably 2007 where I really detested them, I associated them with selling Chinese made shit and running local businesses out with their low prices, which meant the recession really hit my former manufacturing community hard and they were essentially the only game in town. Now as an older and wiser pede, I realize that amazon is the real issue with their garbage fucking chinese knockoff shit. Also, the politicians who allowed this to happen. Now we have the chinese government owning corporations, land, farming, infrastructure in the US all thanks to Barry fucking Soetoro. This is beyond ridiculous. Thank God for President Trump. I firmly believe that the Lord has put him in as President to right the ship before it is too late. I fear what will come in 2024, but I know that we pedes will fight the tyranny of whatever oppressive socialist gets elected, for we free minded men much like the founding fathers will not sit back idly as we are oppressed

2
slrpnls 2 points ago +2 / -0

I bought some utility blades at Walmart in their Hyper Tough brand. Made in USA!

Aside from gases, I won't buy anything from a certain local welding supply as they now have primarily chinese crap there. The filler rods, electrodes, clamps, nearly everything is chinese shit. The sad thing is this place has been around a long time, and they have pretty knowledgeable guys working there, plus multiple stores all over the state.

5
Block_Helen 5 points ago +5 / -0

I applaud this in theory but it's just about impossible.

The reason Italy has 300K Chinese nationals is in part so that the Chinese can run the leather industry there and slap a Made In Italy label on it.

Turned out to be not such a great strategy.

2
stratocaster_patriot 2 points ago +2 / -0

A guy I rented a car from about 2 months ago had a girlfriend that knew about this industry and he told me about this when the subject turned to Italy. I was pretty intruiged by this but Italy and China teaming up to be shady is not at all suprising to me. I've done business with both and have a very dim view of both.

But to your point, it is impossible at this point. It can be changed slowly over time but I have no reason to believe that the American consumer en mass will do what it takes. We are now dependent on instant satisfaction through cheap disposable shit.

Block_Helen 1 point ago +1 / -0

It's hard to do atm especially when you need to chance to get something that only China makes (for some reason).

But after all, this is said and done. I will never ever ever buy anything made in China again. Thankfully with the trade war that was going on many companies moved manufacturing out of China already. Supply chains are fucked up for many things because sadly many raw materials still come from China. Fuck all you can do about that part.

China has shown the world its true face and what it is willing to do to humans in general.

Pure evil country.

1
stratocaster_patriot 1 point ago +1 / -0

Speaking of raw materials. I worry that China is muscling in on Africa for even more dominance in that realm. You think blood diamonds are bad? Just wait.

4
Evei 4 points ago +4 / -0

Upvoted, but I have this caveat: US Manufacturers need to man up and put the flag on their products and take the stance of welcoming inquiries into providing proof that their products are genuine US Made. Now is the time for US companies to stop fucking around with "virtue signaling". If they aren't going to put the flag or "Made in the USA" on their products, they can fuck off to China. Our companies need to stop worrying about "offending" fucking illegals and "immigrants" with our flag.

3
stratocaster_patriot 3 points ago +3 / -0

People in my state made a huge deal about GMO labels on packaging. None of them give a shit about "genocide free" packaging and yet they are currently bitching about people dying from Wuflu. Fucking morons.

slrpnls 3 points ago +3 / -0

Buy American first

If you can't buy American, buy Canadian, British, German, French or Japanese.

If you can't buy First World, buy used or go without.

New Chinese shit should always be a last resort.

2
AllAmericanAdonis 2 points ago +2 / -0

I ALWAYS check craigslist for used items before I buy new. Got a great Breville Juice Fountain Elite and Vitamix for half the retail price or less. Both were in mint condition. I recommended everybody try to buy used before buying new. That'll help a little bit to stem the money flow back to China.

2
Turtler 2 points ago +2 / -0

Easier said than done. Italy's already shown how the ChiCom hydra has adapted to shed the "Made in Chyna" Skin by using Quislings to buy up rust belt assets elsewhere and import indentured servants to the PRC to make stuff "Made in Italy." So to use a viral analogy, the ChiCom virus has already gotten out of its natural habitat and has seeped into reservoirs abroad. And don't think they'll be above piggybacking onto "Made in America" stuff if they're allowed to.

We can still hurt them with this. But we'd have to be vigilant. Really vigilant.

My Philosophy always has been by American if I can now I will change it to buy American or if can't than any other country other than China. Last week I bought an over priced nail clipper made by J.A. Henckels just to avoid China made crap. It's really cool though.

2

I have sinned brothers. I picked up some garlic... Made in China. Can't fucking escape it man! It's all fucking CHINA!

2

Fuck China, but China didn't tell us we had to hide in our bunkers, destroy our economy, put millions out of work, arrest people going to church or walking alone on a beach, and hand over every facet of control and welfare over to the Democrats, who just two months before couldn't fix a fucking pothole.

So tell me which computer processor to buy for which computer board with what RAM? Desktop of course, forget about having a phone or a laptop. We need to build our own fabrication plants here in the US again. It needs to happen ten years ago but the next best time is today. We need to start today.
