The glaring problem with replacing Joe Biden is and has always been, they would need to skip over Bernie to do it. IF Joe drops or is forced out, the DNC is going to have an impossible task in convincing Bernie Bros that they were justified in passing him over (pun intended, happy good friday everyone!).
This isn't 2016, they MIGHT get the Bernie bros to coalesce around Joe, they absolutely will NOT get them unified behind a replacement that isn't named Bernie Sanders.
This is why I think they're not going to do anything and just take the loss. Biden is the fall guy, the metaphor for the dying establishment "centrist" type the DNC will use to push further left into socialist/Marxism. They know they have no one that can beat Trump.
Even if they manage to get Cuomo and not upset the Bernie Bros, people aren't going to forget how good the economy was and how right Trump was on China.
