The stimulus isn't $2T but 6. Maybe that won't all get spent since D's are trying to sink our small businesses, (I guess they figure they won't get any votes from small business owners anyway) but simply wiping out our debt to China isn't nearly enough to make us whole from the damage caused by China's culpability.

Is our damage really nothing more than the cost of the stimulus? I can think of umpteen different categories we're damaged. I'm sure you can too.

So what's over 5% of our national debt currently? Sounds like it's still covered.

How many dead people? How much loss to our economy? How much expense to deal with all this bs? Testing, PPE, ventilators, building emergency hospitals, driving everything around. No, China can't make us whole by forgiving $2T in debt. There's not a Country on the planet that China can make whole. They owe the rest of the world a debt they can never repay.

We can't begin to calculate the cost until we're back to normal.

If you just look at the government response, doing sensible things, that'd be quite a "stimulus package." Include giving people medicine once we knew something could help. That would've gotten at least a large portion of the Country back to work quickly, but we have to add all sorts of bs to that. The panic and irrational behavior in the wake of this mess is debatable who's fault it is, but China is indirectly involved there too. I'm all in favor of holding our Governors accountable for their mistakes and moving forward with doing the right thing(s).

We can deal with China later.

I think China is doing a soft-war with the US. They've done all they can to fuck up our schools, our media and our industries. Now they've engaged in biowarfare.

Personally, I'd like to see them glassed - but immediate decoupling and throwing out as much Chinese industries and investments, freezing bank accounts, fund-trades, and seizing assets would be good next steps too.

They've gone beyond the pale with this pandemic (on the heels of multiple epidemics from their shitty shitty plauge culture that - no joke - has been responsible for most outbreaks for 2000+ years) - intentionally or not - there's no use for them in the future. The immediate future. Starting the next USA industrial boom would cover the expense past the elimination of the debt China owns. And would be beyond mere money.

I'd also start a good old purge of politicians who have Chinese ties. Far and above the 'red scare'. We need a wholesale purge. Laws need to be passed to enforce them as a bio-terrorist nation and isolate them harder than Iran or NK.

I mentioned Vietnam earlier because it'd a quick regional fix for some fabrication (for logistics and for component streams - plus the kind of assembly line method we don't do in the US (handwork specifically) - and we could build the entire Asian nations surrounding China into a trading block bigger than the West during the cold-war against the Warsaw-pact nations. Hell we could even get North Korea going or joined up with South Korea too. I don't include India because their industry is lacking - and would need hard effort (not short term) to catch-up (the skill stacks are abysmal compared to most of the other Asian nations).

We can do this because the sheer manpower required to replace all of China would elevate both the US and Asia jobs and trade on a colossal scale. That's the potential in decoupling now - and for the next 4 years. Total. That includes telling the UN to either take China out of their positions, or they can fuck off their US funding, US participation and get the fuck out of NYC.

It's time for a new Cold War. And China is it. They need to be isolated hard. They need to be Quarantined - forever.

(and fuck the Olympics - if they have any more pending - boycott that shit)

I like your attitude. We do have hand work assembly lines here. And a lot of our industry has already relocated form China to Viet Nam, it's one of the favorite places to go. Messing with our schools and MSM goes back WAY before China was a player, to 1913. I have no idea when China (more likely individual absurdly rich Chinese) was allowed into that sandbox.

I think at a bare minimum we need to default on all debt to China and nationalize all Chinese investment here. I also think it's impossible to do either if we do it by ourselves. This "war" is about global opinion, because China has made it so. Lots of Countries taking these steps ties China's hands. US being the only Nation to do it paints us as the bad guy. We really can't afford that.

I don't think we can afford to skip even one of the points on my 7 point list, and we need "the whole world" to join us in that. Well, Russia NK and Iran probably won't, but mostly everybody else.

A hard purge beyond McCarthyism was needed before I was born, so yes. "Enforcing them as a bio-terrorist nation" means nothing if they're allowed to keep their level 4 lab intact.

Perfect time to get out of the UN. I hadn't thought about the WHO before this, but DJT's ire is definitely focused on them now, and rightly so. Others have said get US out of the UN and NATO. I've thought that would be too sudden. Pulling out of UN and WHO asap might make a lot more sense? Let that dust settle and consider NATO, which would men getting our nukes out of Turkey.

No matter how we do this a major shakeup in world power is unavoidable. It's funny that Russia is the two-bit player in all this, and it's mostly China and US now.

So what's over 5% of our national debt currently? Sounds like it's still covered by China and could be rebooked.
