They lump THEMSELVES together. They cover for each other every day. Cops will be the first to tell you they view the world as Them vs Us.
Let's see some self policing and they might eventually earn some sympathy.
Sheriff's are slightly different from police as they are voted in, rather than appointed by untouchable politicians. But when it comes to the wire, they will likely shoot YOU before going against other LEOs.
I actually am a police officer and many of my co workers are on this site and share some views you do. I do not cover for anyone where I work, I would turn someone in immediately if caught planting evidence or violating any civil right. Either no one does anything at the muni department where I work or they just don't do it around me. Me and my fellow officers would be first to either disobey gun grabbing orders or even quit. You cannot lump everyone together.
This country is founded on INDIVIDUAL freedoms and people are to be judged by their actions as an INDIVIDUAL. If you want to judge a whole community together, you might as well be a communist.
I do not see it as them vs us. I see it as some people make poor decisions and should be punished. I don't take a stealing report and, because I know it was done by a human person, come to your house to talk to you or take you to jail do I? You need to sit yourself down and figure out who has the us vs them mentality because you are projecting so much I think you're really a Democrat troll.
Make no mistake I'm a conservative, constitutionalist, America first, red blooded freedom junkie but if anyone comes at me or my family they will pay the ultimate price.

There are some who will comply and there are some who will refuse. None of them will make an independent decision to confiscate guns. That decision is made by the people we elect.
