If the stores would refuse this crap and think of their role as providing merchandise that their customers wanted to buy, it would send a strong message to power mad politicians. We already know,though, that stores like Walmart and Meijer are more than willing to alienate their customers by bowing to pressure to stop selling products like ammo and now whatever the governor thinks is unnecessary.
