When I ask people what unemployment rate is acceptable to them before we turn around, they go silent.

How many people can suffer economically before we stop the madness?

Shit, squirrels were smarter and in better shape than me for about a month last year when I was trying to get them out of my roof.

They built nests in my rain gutters. BB's and pellets worked well for me. Pellets are better for terminal effect. The only pain is you have to wash your hands or risk getting lead poisoning. There might be new options for coated pellets or pellets made of something else. I guess you could say my squirrel problem died a long time ago - kek

3
ChokingOnARedpill 3 points ago +3 / -0

Ok, so what I did was make a home made peppers pray for squirrels. Easy to do, recipes online. Put it in a spray bottle. Wet down the area they frequent. For me it was the wood paneling in the attic. Don't worry it evaporates after 4-6 hours and it won't hurt anything. The squirrels just don't like it so they leave for awhile. But this only works if you know how they're getting in. I just watched out on the driveway to see where. Turns out they chewed a plastic vent screen under a vent cover. I bought a metal cover on Amazon and installed it with roofing nails and waterproof sealant. Haven't heard them back since.

Bro, you are 100% correct: lefties don't get it. Hunting & processing game, even rats, is hard work. They're used to 3 meals a day of giant portions, completely oblivious to how much labor went into that stuff. Seriously oblivious.

The left gets votes and by extension power by making sure Americans are as desperate as possible and utterly dependent upon the state. They'd be overjoyed if we could get 100% unemployment, but I think even they understand that some percentage of the populace needs to work in order to carry the burden of supporting the rest on their shoulders. But they sure as hell aren't going to be aghast at 10% unemployment like conservatives are.

6
Tonightm01 6 points ago +6 / -0

Sadly in the case, it's not only the left doing damage.

There is an army of online morons (my name for them) that are asking for the government to lock people in their homes for months and months. To arrest people on mass that go outside. For camps to be set up to put all these people in.

Asking for more "police state" laws to be put into place again for months and months.

In many parts of the world including America are the ones being listened to. These people are from all political backgrounds. As you have to remember a "police state" or "Nanny state" is a far-right thing. It's not a far-left thing.

6
DarkMemeDuck 6 points ago +7 / -1

You must be new here. A police state is as far left of a thing as you can get. If you still believe that the political system has communism on the far left and fascism on the far right, have I got a red pill for you.

In actuality it's always been socialism (full government control) on the far left, and anarchism (no government whatsoever) on the far right. Conservatism is actually far closer to the middle since it only wants small government. It's only recently that the commies switched it. You can thank government schooling for that little bit of slight of hand.

1
ThunderSizzle 1 point ago +1 / -0

You have to remember that the American political spectrum doesn't follow Europe.

Europe loved totalarianism (France got rid of a king for a dictator/emperor), and during the 1800s, socialism became a major political philosophy. The left were communist oriented, wanting to remove all private ownership.

The right became more nationalized focused, allowing businesses to run if they followed to demands of the government. Nazi Germany was more like this.

Also, the left had divisions between internationals and nationalism. Those on the patriotic side of it were moved to the right too.

America's political right doesn't derive from any of that, so you can't compare. The American left, however, derives from the progressive movement of early 1900s when it looked at both fascism and communism and all forms of socialism and eugenics as a good.

With the original intent of the constitution, could the federal government go towards taxing the states and telling the states to figure out how to get the money?

Instead of the federal government taxing everyone in the state?

22
Isolated_Patriot 22 points ago +22 / -0

They use this one a lot.

"If we can keep in one false deportation from happening, no amount of aliens is too many"

"If we can save even one innocent life, no amount of murderers and child molesters still living is too many."

16
Keiichi81 16 points ago +16 / -0

Strangely, they support the inverse philosophy when it comes to rape allegations.

"If it stops even one guilty rapist from going free, no amount of innocent men killing themselves or jailed for crimes they didn't commit is too many."

7
AlphaNathan 7 points ago +7 / -0

That's not strange to them. Just Tuesday.

8
duvalpede 8 points ago +8 / -0

It's a false equivalency and they know it. It's a total bullshit argument towards anything. Especially from those who preach about the 'greater good' so much.

Individuals matter, most definitely. They are the smallest minority on which our rights matter most. However, in bigger pictures such as this, an individual overall matters less being that failure of such a massive scale would devastate far more than just some individuals.

Canadian here, and at least where I live it's the opposite, no one goes to the hospital unless it's serious, and funny enough the common stereotype is that Americans are the ones that go to the hospital for the littlest things. Not saying it's true of course, i have no clue.

godblessnolanarenado 7 points ago +13 / -6

Guys, a lot of people here are not hurting financially and have not lost their jobs.

This is causing some smugness and complacence. Here's the deal: at times like these, people are going to be demanding solutions in a way that they never have before.

Now, either the Democrats will take over forming the nature of the solution while MAGA people sit on the sidelines.

Or MAGA people and Republicans can figure out the solutions and try to actually help people - BEFORE election time.

But this bullshit from more fortunate people of 'hey quit your bitching, we're winners here' and 'lol quit whining, just start a business' or 'hey dumbass, just go work for UPS, I hear they're hiring' WILL cost us, and cost us badly.

We can either let the Democrats ride this upcoming wave of desperation for financial help. OR we can FINALLY start to acknowledge that real people need HELP. And set our preconceived notions and false beliefs aside (hurr durr, only lazy people need help. hurr durr, only communists need help to pay for medical expenses. hurr durr ANY help is BAD. START A BUSINESS lmao etc.) AND WE can be the ones to propose actually useful and practical solutions.

BUT in order to do that, we have to be humble and recognize that a lot of this old mythical stuff you or your dad or your grandpappy told you needs to fall by the wayside and new stuff has to come along.

Either the Democrats will take over now. Or our side can.

Choice is up to us. But if we keep persisting with this 'hey loser, shoulda gotten a STEM degree and a work-from-home job like I did lmfao!' bullshit and try spewing that to all the jobless millions, WE WILL LOSE.

17
kjj9 17 points ago +18 / -1

I think you'll find that most of us have always been in favor of help. We aren't so keen on financing a dependency lifestyle.

The problem we are facing is that with Democrats in charge of the House, and they will fight tooth and nail against any assistance that isn't permanent.

-10
godblessnolanarenado -10 points ago +4 / -14

I notice you ignored completely that Larry Kudlow, our national economic adviser, has advocated for the economy to be closed through mid-June.

So now what, big guy?

You cannot stay in your comfort zone any more.

Jesse Kelly said it best: that this is no longer about Left vs Right. Wake the fuck up.

This is about people with jobs versus people who will soon lose everything.

7
WhateverNecessary 7 points ago +8 / -1

I couldn't give less of a shit what Kudlow says.

People are losing things because the economy's getting strangled. Solution = stop strangling it. I notice you still haven't proposed one of your own.

3
Pedutoisacuck 3 points ago +3 / -0

So our "national economic adviser" is saying we need to keep our economy closed for another two months, huh? He's either a deep state plant or so incompetent at doing his job that it makes Joe Biden look like Einstein in comparison.

I'm not going to accuse you of being a shill, but your post glows so brightly if you stuck it in the sky we'd have a second sun.

YES! That is my point, buddy. What do you think the Dems are doing now? They're all strategizing on how to build a critical mass of unemployed and poor voters to ram through UBI and M4A!

We need to be doing more to publicize all these programs that Trump supports. Frankly, Trump himself needs to promote his programs more. As does the Republican party.

We need to hear a lot more about healthcare costs, daycare costs, help with rent/mortgage etc etc.

All we're hearing so far is about disputes with the press. That will not be enough.

If you let the Democrats become the voice of the people, it won't matter whether you're sold or not on UBI and M4A. They will impose it.

All hospitals are set up to function at full capacity to make money

There are people who do a daily “utilization review”

The essence of this is looking at each patient, at their coverage, and determining if the hospital will be paid or not

Sometimes, they may do something simple to get paid, such as request a certain test or evaluation

If they won’t get paid for that hospital day, you are discharged home

The reason some people fight to get out of hospital and come upon resistance is because the hospital is getting paid easily for keeping them
