I know the scripture. I just don't understand why it was so easy back then. Thomas didn't believe, but Jesus was there. Why we can't get ONE single crumb in 2000 years is what's eating away at my faith.
There's an old story about a man in New Orleans during one of our many floods. His neighbors evacuated and asked if he needed a ride, but he refused and said, "God will save me".
The waters rose and the man climbed up onto his roof. A family in a fishing boat paddled past and yelled up at him to climb down into their boat, but he refused. "God will save me", he shouted down, so the family paddled off.
The water climbed up further and a river patrol rescue boat came up to the house. An officer called to him through a megaphone to jump into the water so they could pull him into the boat but the man refused. "God will save me", he screamed into the wailing wind, and the rescue boat wash pushed away by a gust of wind and left to rescue someone else.
Finally, as the water was lapping the peak of the roof, and the man was clinging to the vent pipe being tossed by the waves, a helicopter came down, shining its searchlight on him, and lowering a basket. "GET INTO THE BASKET AND TIE YOURSELF IN!" the Coast Guard shouted down at him through the chopper's loudspeaker, but the man refused. He kicked the basket away from himself and screamed, "GOD WILL SAVE ME!"
Frustrated, and struggling to stay in the air through the storm, the helicopter pilot had no choice but to leave the man behind and take the rest of the refugees to safety.
The water rose, the rain lashed, and the wind wailed as the man finally lost his grip and slipped into the tumultuous water. He awoke in heaven. "Welcome my son", God said to him, "Enjoy your reward for your faith".
The man was astounded at the beauty of heaven, but a question persisted in his mind. "God," he asked. "I know you work in mysterious ways, and I'm so thankful to be here in heaven, but why didn't you save me from the storm?"
God looked at him with kind gentle eyes and said, "I sent a car, two boats, and a helicopter, what more did you want from me?"
The fact that we have Donald Trump (who I believe really is empowered by God right now, albeit a strange choice of person) as President speaks volumes.
Moses was Pharaoh's favorite. He killed a man. Became a shepherd. God chose him. He was a strange choice. Saul became Paul. Saul was a tax collector. All Through the Bible God chose the most unusual men to do his work. Why would Donald Trump be any different.
They had a lot more than a mustard seed in olden days. They has Jesus there, and still some didn't believe. What do we have today? Why can't we get even a mustard seed anymore?
It's easy to get caught up in the moment. Especially when everyone else around you is too. Don't let the moments (distractions) pull you away and blind you from the truth that has and always will be all around you. The signs you're looking for aren't read...they're experienced. You'll only understand them if you're moving forward.
I watched a few seconds of one of those dog being slowly boiled alive videos, a couple days ago, A few seconds of that agony was all I could take. Happy laughing villagers, kids too, somewhere in Asia, taking over an hour to wok a dog over a fire in boiling water (not enough to enable the poor thing to drown) slowly into unconsciousness... It was still wearing it's collar. It was really entertaining to the villagers. The idea is that if you torment an animal to death slowly the adrenaline makes the meat tough. For tough men. And I fell on my knees and thanked God, for Christian values. And that I get to live in a country that is informed of those values. That spirit has flooded the world and enabled us to see torture and many other behaviors as something wrong, has lifted a significant portion of mankind out of the muck that we were in 2020 years ago. God is with us and active everyday.
Trump is President instead of Hillary. I'd say that's one heck of a sign.
I was gping to say, damn, I watch the Briefings every day and they are amazing. Trump is God's gift to us
What a man! We are blessed.
What do we have? Faith.
ask and it will be given
Holy cow, I cannot understand why this is so downvoted.

If you haven't read it, I recommend C.S.Lewis' The Screwtape Letters
are you looking for a good sign or s bad sign?
depending where you look you have your choice
What’s crazy about that? Mustard seed
They had a lot more than a mustard seed in olden days. They has Jesus there, and still some didn't believe. What do we have today? Why can't we get even a mustard seed anymore?
Your faith needs to be the size of just a mustard seed. That’s it. That’s all.
Eyes to see and ears to hear. It is your faith, not your need for proof; As it is his grace, not your need to be perfect in his eyes.
