"But muh lettus would be tu expensiveeee". I don't know what farmers are paying guest workers but if they can't pay American wages for American labor and still be competitive, the farmer next door with the tractor will.

Something folks may not know, also, the "fat free" craze correlates perfectly with the boom in American obesity. Turns out that in the 90's when they were pushing fat free shit, it really was "fat free." People then took that to mean that it wouldn't make them fat, or it would help them lose weight. Fat in your food actually isn't a bad thing. What happened was when these food manufacturers removed the fat content, they had to substitute something else. They used sugar.

So not only did they sell us a bullshit product, they made us fat doing it by telling us it was a healthier alternative.

Right. The "experts" at the government pushing the food pyramid. It goes way back further than the 90's.
