Boeing plans limited return to work next week after coronavirus shutdown, by Dom Calicchio
“In a message to employees Friday, aircraft manufacturer Boeing said it planned to resume operations on a limited basis, possibly as soon as Monday, according to reports. The company plans to recall about 2,500 employees to work at some of its sites in Washington state, where coronavirus mitigation efforts have been among the most successful in the nation. “There will be new policies and procedures for social distancing and work area cleaning,” the Boeing message read, accordiing to The Seattle Times. “If you are able to support continued production, please reach out to your manager.”“
I swear whenever this shit is finally over, gonna punch the next person who says "social distancing"
Boeing is crucial for manufacturing and designing self defense mechanisms for our military. Absolutely they need to reopen.
The problem won’t be boeing. It’ll be the travel industry.
While I think theres a lot of doomsday hyperbole going around, for the short term airlines and travel are going to be hit hard.
However the sooner these bullshit lockdowns end the better it’ll be. People are going to go to Disney World Wuflu or not.
Best of luck to Boeing.
Go Boeing! Lead the way! ✈️🇺🇲😃👍
MAGA
Why was Boeing shuttered in the first place? They could easily qualify as critical manufacturing or defense industrial base. They probably furloughed people so they wouldn't have to pay them due to their 737 Max issue tanking the company. Now they have decided its more beneficial to their bottom line to remain open and are milking every ounce of it.
Boeing had employees coming down with corona virus, which meant every other person on the factory floor was exposed. They had to shut down before it got out of hand. They needed to figure out how to reopen with mitigation processes.
