The Founders and signers of the Constitution were well aware of infectious plagues. They were routinely harassed by medical maladies, and many of them and their most loved ones died from sickness.
Yet, somehow they didn't feel the need to include: "if people get sick, the government can do whatever it wants."
They fought a revolution during a small pox outbreak, but I catch flak for suggesting people at least petition their governors.
In the end, we're the ones who have to protect our rights.
