TBH the problem right now IS the state response to Corona. its WAY overblown to the point your Constitutional rights are being violated and no one is challenging them because they think it's being done for safety
That's the way it should be....states rights you know. It will be a follow the lead type thing once one state opens up the rest will follow. Or their citizens will start to get pissed.
That's the one thing libertarians are wrong about... or why it is always hyphenated with something. There is a whole world between balkanization, federal bureaucracy, and a centralized state. Like if you want to deregulate and leave everything to the states you'll get 50 different responses, unknowable and selectively enforced laws with less accountability the smaller the jurisdiction is. It's not the federal government telling you to tear down your house because your studs aren't 18" apart. You're not supposed to end up in federal court for a whole hell of a lot short of killing people. I'm not selling some opposite of a libertarian extreme, just saying ideological purity is oversimplification. The only reason it is hard to point out, besides the libertarian pipe dream being untested, is that the world is a little more complicated than that. Standardization, utility, the pitfalls of privatization. Being coincidentally right 99% of the time doesn't mean that disliking taxes and liking freedom will account for the other 1%.
"a" eunuch not "an" eunuch. The a/an is determined by the following sound, not spelling. Eunuch begins with a "y" sound, which is a consonant, and therefore "a" is appropriate.
Sure i do. And in general, I avoid pedantics on spelling/grammar. However, this wasn't a misspelling, a typo, or a bad autocorrect, it was grammatical error.
Not necessary doesn't mean forbidden. A comma can also be a pause in a sentence, put in place to "naturalize" the written word with the flow of the spoken word.
A semi colon would have been a much better choice considering how you started your next sentence with however followed by a plethora of commas. It looks tacky.
Better choice, perhaps. But when read aloud my structure sounds natural. An eunuch, not so much. If i didn't know that you were following the incorrect rule of spelling vs pronunciation, i would have just strolled right on by. Sadly, i was pretty damn sure you purposely wrote an, and would continue doing so for all eternity.
I have no particular issue with it, or you. But you seem like a well thought out individual, with a keen mind and.strong deductive skills. Why then would i leave a hole in your game? That would make me an asshole. And I much prefer being a dick.
Man, there are some really satisfying, educated replies in that story. Such a breathe of fresh air to see people understand Federalism. We've never been a perfect example, but anything close is better than the alternative.

Because Cuomo couldn't get his shit together.
Neither can Gas Tax Gretchen

Stelter unwittingly letting us know that if voter fraud had prevailed in 2016, we'd be in a world of hurt right now.
I don’t give a fuck what an eunuch thinks.

You don’t get out much do you.

No comma necessary after general

Does this mean he now apparently want all states to cooperate with ICE since he loves the coercive power of the Feds? I'm guessing no.
What are Stelter's 'states rights' views when it comes to abortion?

Exactly what I was thinking when I read that. Good to know there are others that understand how our government was designed to work.
