The whole shutdown was based on lies. The "models" are BS as the real numbers show. Let's restore the economy.

Before anyone cucks about the shutdown being responsible for the low numbers, the higher death tolls were predicted with quarantines and social distancing already accounted for.

Spez: Suck it

Truth. The models accounted for social distancing and quarantines. Trump's claim that social distancing is working is also true, but the original numbers were still highly inflated. THIS is what caused the panic. THIS is what caused us to burn down the economy. All on a lie. Trump is playing it to the best of his advantage and winning.

What's said are all the users on here who are either shills, or those so caught up in revising history that they're trying to do it live, right now.

You're right on. It was all a lie.

The redeeming factors are that Trump errored on the side of caution, did not bypass the States and mandate shutdowns and has been a complete total boss procuring all the shit needed and not putting up with any BS, getting on the phone himself to handle anything needed.

Having said that - I agree that he now needs to erect a big middle finger and this week set a reopen date that is not even as far out as May 1.

Even if there's some truth to it, the fact that they didn't expect to drop 140,000 deaths within a couple weeks shows how little they actually know.

dukeofdoorcounty 19 points ago +20 / -1

A model with 4 variables and they are off by 20x, so we are supposed to belive their climate change models with thousands of variables (with initial conditions that can't be measured) is more accurate?

I remember hearing about global warming in a Ninja Turtles book as a child. About 30 years later, every warning I've heard has failed to happen in the timeframe it was supposed to.

11
NYCforTrump 11 points ago +11 / -0

So plastic straws didn’t come to murder all the ninja turtles???

7
Cmchn 7 points ago +7 / -0

No, they crushed them with their kung fu

3
Yucky 3 points ago +3 / -0

Well, ackshually, there is the one video of the sea turtle with the straw in its nose. Rather sad if you watch it, bleeding badly.

5
Rob_Belmonte 5 points ago +5 / -0

Not even a straw, per say. It's dental equipment, that's plastic piece the dentist uses to flush water or air. Not a drinking straw from Wendy's.

Video still is sad. Liberals taking advantage of it and populace ignorance is disgusting.

what kind of an idiot would even bother making a model with all the data is coming from china and iran,

People who make a living off of models, lol.

My theory is they knew this was an engeineered virus that supposedly had zero herd immunity, therefore 2 million dead, but to their (and Bill Gates') surprise, this virus got out of the lab in September (or the bat got loose). Either way, it's just another flu now.

Current US CDC FLU Numbers to date 24,000 dead (In 2018 we have 80,000 die from the FLU)

1,303,970 Tested nationally, 247,785 tested positive and 24,000 died

9.68% of everyone testing positive of the flu died this year

https://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/index.htm

Current US COVID 19 Numbers to date 14,696 dead

1,562,201 Tested nationally, 257,986 tested positive and 14,696 died

5.69% of everyone testing positive of COVID 19 died this year

I think that is using cdc estimates for flu death compared to actual confirmed tests, though i would be interested to see how those numbers actually line up.

1
tokilamockingbrd 1 point ago +1 / -0

ya good call. same presice applies. Both diseases see people only getting tested if they show severe symptoms.

2
jomten 2 points ago +2 / -0

I wouldn’t doubt it. If im just feeling a little sick i just hunker down at home and get over it. I only go to a hospital if I think death is possible.

1
yukondave 1 point ago +1 / -0

Nope my number above is actual to death ratio. What got us in this trouble they claimed that Covid19 was 10x more lethal than the flu. the problem is did what you just pointed out. Flu estimates to death ratio compared to Covid actual to death ration.

That is why I am showing this number. The estimated flu contracted is in the range of about 60,000 million

yukondave 1 point ago +1 / -0

Forgot to add thee CDC standard for Covid deaths as of March 24th may also impact the rise in deaths attributed.

Here is the source from the CDC but it was just said by Dr. Birk in the White House briefing

This is remarkable. Dr. Birx says here very plainly that anyone who dies “with COVID-19” is being counted as having died from COVID-19. She admits this is a “liberal approach” to recording mortality.

https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nvss/coronavirus/Alert-2-New-ICD-code-introduced-for-COVID-19-deaths.pdf The CDC guidelines instructed physicans to declare a Covid death when the deceased had tested positive or ASSUMED to have died from covid.

· Pneumonia deaths in NewYork= Covid even if not tested.

· Asthma deaths, bronchospasm= assumed covid

· COPD death= covid

· Emphysema= covid

· Bronchitis= covid

· Influenza A and B = assumed covid

· Sepsis or any kind= Covid

We can sort this out afterwards if the above cause of death all dropped massively versus previous years. Flu deaths are way down to 24,000 versus last year 61,000 and last year was a very long season that went out past April.

We just don't know if this is killing the same cohort as the flu or if they are being counted in the Cover 19 deaths or if the flu this year happened to have dropped off sharply from previous years for some unknown reason.

Also remember if you believe the danger of this please go out and buy life insurance. Also note they still sell it and rates have not gone up???

What do the actuaries know that the politicians and reporters don't?

13
Pres-Trump 13 points ago +15 / -2

Now they know we will all comply with their orders, do you think there won't be a new virus later this year, or the next, ad infinitum. They know we won't do shit, and I mean we as Americans, not us few who don't give a shit. They have us now. They'll never give up this power.

3
trozz 3 points ago +3 / -0

Hell yes, China is straight up gonna send people over on a coughing spree!

Who cares how obvious it is? We’ll be too busy locked inside to do anything about it?

-2
jomten -2 points ago +3 / -5

We are willing to make sacrifices in order to protect our most vulnerable. If this was killing healthy young adults too we would definitely be willing to hunker down and take the economic hit. This has only happened once in a hundred years, so its not so bad.

But if this turns out to be nothing and they try it again I expect people to flat out refuse to close businesses. Rooftop korean style.

4
Qwikphaze 4 points ago +5 / -1

Only problem is people didn’t make that sacrifice on their own, the government made it for them.

-2
NukeTheCCP -2 points ago +1 / -3

That’s only true in certain states, and it’s the fault if the local government not the President. Your governor being an asshole doesn’t give you an excuse to disregard Trump.

I am glad someone said it again, and made the first page with it. 🐸

5
DontApologize 5 points ago +6 / -1

They went with the liars. Some people did predict pretty low death totals - but they were ignored. The real shocking story is how phony the counts for this or the flu are anyway.

3
wuhan_chan 3 points ago +3 / -0

I think its higher than 17 million. A lot higher.

2

It is time.. The President now has immence power to order manufacturing back to America for Nation Security. He also has the Power to purge industries infiltrated by agents of the Communist Chinese..

Staatssicherheit -13 points ago +4 / -17

Original 4/1 IHME Projected data:

4/5: 9,877 (8,930-10,652). - Actual - 9,616

4/7: 13,430 (11,634-14,964). - Actual 12,841

4/10: 19,880 (16,143- 23,357) - Actual 18,747

4/15: 32,441 (23,374-41,617) - Actual ?

8/1: 93,765 (41,399 - 177,381). - Actual ?

These real numbers did not show the model was "BS". The amount of misinformation being put forth has been troubling. Liberals aren't the only ones that puts feelings above facts, I'm sad to say.

11
MrFrogBottom 11 points ago +13 / -2

Lol those are After they adjusted with current numbers. Projections from a month ago were off by a factor of 6x on average. Then you post 8/1 93k with a CI range of over 100k. Anyone who thinks these models are accurate at this point is willfully retarded.

-8
Staatssicherheit -8 points ago +3 / -11

These are the original 4/1 numbers. There were no numbers from 1 month ago. I got this data from the healthdata.org website in the first day or two after Trump mentioned it in the press conference. It's disappointing that people would just make up excuses/self-deceptions instead of just incorporating the facts into their arguments.

Believe what you want. The facts will not change. But my perception of the "Left" and the "Right" certainly has. I saw the same behavior from the Left when I presented the record numbers from the Trump economy.

7
jigglyp33n 7 points ago +8 / -1

Are you telling me literally no one was projecting the number of cases on 3/1? Are you a full-on retard or did your mom just drink when she was pregnant?

MrFrogBottom 6 points ago +8 / -2

" There were no numbers from 1 month ago."

They take down all the old projection and put up new ones all the time. They've been doing this for months now. Where do you think the 500k estimated deaths came from months ago? Then Birx saying we'd see 200k deaths "if we do everything right"? It's all the awful IHME model, and it's been off by massive amounts each time.

Some reading on how terrible the model has been:

0
Staatssicherheit 0 points ago +2 / -2

I only gathered the information from the website after Birx/Trump first mentioned the 100-200K number around 4/1. The model has been accurate since Trump/Birx/Fauci touted it. If you have evidence of its inaccuracy before 4/1, please present the data. The hospitalization model was completely wrong. That does not mean the death model was the same (as evidenced by the actual results).

NukeTheCCP -5 points ago +2 / -7

Agreed - this site is reminding me of r/politics more every day.

The absolute rejection of facts which don’t fit their narrative is disappointing to see coming from supposed right-wingers. And what happened to having faith in Trump?

-1
Staatssicherheit -1 points ago +2 / -3

Both the Right and the Left have been saying the models are fake to further their own narrative. The fact that Trump has been able to herd these cats and drive the numbers down to below the original median estimates is a testament to his leadership skills.

3
tokilamockingbrd 3 points ago +4 / -1

everyone has to die at some point.

I hope if I can make it to 90 that I go by something quickish like COVID. I mean since you have to die what other choices are there? Cancer? ya. I will take COVID thank you very much. I mean the best scenario is cardiac arrest at like age 105 or so...

2
Yucky 2 points ago +3 / -1

They were projecting a couple million deaths. Where is that data?

-3
Staatssicherheit -3 points ago +2 / -5

Sure, please show me where they were projecting 2 million US deaths with full mitigation/lock down. I will admit I am wrong at that point.

My question is did you already know that the 2 million was without mitigation? Do you purposely conflate mitigation numbers with non-mitigation numbers similar to how Left conflates illegal immigrants with legal immigrants? If so, my depressing hypothesis that the Right is no different from the Left has another piece of evidence added to it.

1
Yucky 1 point ago +1 / -0

No, they were projecting 1-2M without mitigation.

Now that it's below 100k, they can claim mitigation is working.

Which is horseshit.

I couldn't care less about whether left or right are the same. I care about winning elections, deporting illegals, protecting our country, and getting the economy going.

I'm not here for abstract philosophical debates. Go see Jordan Petersen if you're into that.
