One of my relatives just died from a lengthly battle with lung cancer, he collapsed at home and was brought to the hospital. He died the next day. His death certificate says he died of Covid-19. Outrage. This is criminal. Massachusetts.
Lives are being ruined and we are being LIED to.
Sorry for your loss. Looks like that hospital couldn't resist the temptation to screw Medicaid (the taxpayers) out of a $39,000 bonus.
The guidelines that I've seen don't require a test. The doctors, etc. can use their best judgement.
My friend's father in PA had his cause of death listed as Covid-19 even though he had been in and out of the hospital for 2 years with bouts of pneumonia and was on dialysis. He was never tested. No autopsy. The doctor said it was an approved assumption. So it's up to the doctor to list cause of death for $$$$.
