I've been having that sneaking suspicion. When the local Leftists all started pushing the "flatten the curve" narrative I just assumed it was a combination of A: repeating something they read on Facebook trying to sound smart B: wishful thinking that they could sit home from work/school and/or celebrate their long-running NEET-ness but with gibs-enhancement. As it turns out, it was both.

Well it appears that we have flattened the curve too much. We're not using the resources that were prepared; and by over-flattening, we have extended the curve in time.

Geotus really needs to get better advisors and Bill Gates needs to sit down and shut up.

^ This! ^

I'm not complaining, it is much better to have resources to spare and I certainly would not want to see this Wu-Flu take the course it could have.

But: considering Fauci and Birx are both long-time high-level government employees with alliances to questionable Deep-State types, I don't trust them any more than Bill Gates (which is to say less than zero.) All of them are narcissistic opportunists reveling in new-found attention and/or restored public relevance.

Fauci is on record (accidentally, LOL) via emails found at Wikileaks, gushing praise for Crooked Hillary.

Birx is married to Bill Clinton's former presidential travel coordinator.

And of course Bill Gates has a long record of funding harmful and deceptive vaccines deployed on unsuspecting 3rd-world people. (Moar fun with that: his father was a former head of Planned "Parenthood.")

Yea it's possible we end up having a second higher peak because of it. Fact of the matter is, even with a second higher peak - we need to get back to work. Just be smart, if you have masks you might as well wear one if you're going to the store. Wash your hands often. Feeling sick? STAY HOME.

no reason to shut down the world. Just be smart people. As you can see, people are still dying regardless of all this nonsense

The risk will never be zero.
