I believe that a week ago (+/-) Dr. Birx admitted that 'they' were counting most deaths as COVID even while other complications existed, and that provides some explanation to the precipitous decline in pneumonia deaths. NY may be taking advantage of that for funding but NY's high case & death rates are more likely the result of poor decisions and pompous attitude NY maintained early on in the crisis (Cuomo statements on 3/2; NYC officials during Chinese New Year) - many if you give them too much credit for cleverness, but we'll likely see confirmation of this when lawsuits begin in the upcoming months.

Why does the Center for Disease Control and Prevention exist? It has never “Prevented” an epidemic, much less a pandemic, and as we are currently seeing it lacks the ability, or preparation, to “Control” a disease. The CDC has a $12 Billion budget, but what does it do? From what I can find, it does many of the same things that colleges, universities and clinics do, and actually it uses the research and studies from colleges, universities, and clinics.

This coronavirus was predicted coming from China's wet markets in a study by Hong Kong University that was published in the American Society of Microbiology's Journal of Clinical Microbiology in 2007, and there were subsequent updates to that study also published. Why didn't the CDC read that and prepare testing protocols, treatment guidelines, structure supply chain requirements, etc., in anticipation when there was no pressure to do so? What other upcoming diseases has the CDC ignored as well?
