This is true. My friend in upstate NY is in his 40s and has had a fever since last Saturday and a COVID-19 diagnosis confirmed on Wednesday. His doctors refuse to prescribe HCQ-AZ. First they told him that they, "weren't sold on it yet" and then told him, "no one's going to write a prescription for it".
This shit makes me so mad. He told me he'd be willing to try anything at this point. Does he not have the right to try?
I thought it was approved by tithe fda.
It was only approved by the FDA for serious or life-threatening cases https://www.pharmacytimes.com/news/fda-announces-two-drugs-approved-for-compassionate-use-in-treating-covid-19
Unfortunately, in NY that means you have to be in the ICU before you can get it.
