I just don't see any reasonable alternative other than an actual virus or mental disease. They really don't have any empathy. They are consummate liars. Every single one of their policies results in harm to the human race. They are literally telling us who and what they are every day and still they thrive. Everything they espouse leads to human misery but still we don't act.

None of us want to become what they are, and that is armour for them. An invulnerability spell. Like the Vietnamese and Chinese shooting our jets down from installations from Laos or Cambodia where our forces were forbidden by liberal politicians from striking them. They attack with impunity and become ever bolder. It has to end.
