Any money I get back from the government was mine to begin with. I pay thousands per year in taxes!

Not a fan of bailouts, but I did pay $25,000 in payroll tax last year. I'm okay with them giving me back $1,200 that they stole to begin with. It's our money, not theirs.

I understand they didn't have it and printed it. That's the bad part.

So a one time deal to keep the economy afloat (because the government shut it down anyway) is considered socialism?

The root of comedy is truth. Better luck next time. How you could possibly come to a forum where everyone clearly wants to work, and post the above, is beyond me. Except - and hear me out here - except, if you were a dick.

Socialism is about the specific welfare of a few, whereas Trump's one-time stimulus check is for the general welfare of all, because it is intended to help as many people as possible, if not all of us.

Socialism is not in the Constitution, whereas the general welfare clause is. So both Trump and the vast majority of Americans who will cash their stimulus checks are acting in the best spirit of the anti-socialist US Constitution.
