Let’s be honest - we all know that healthcare & hygiene are worse in African countries than in Europe and the Anglosphere. So why does Africa have fuck-all cases compared to developed countries? And the only country in Africa which has significant cases is South Africa - the country in Africa which is arguably the most culturally similar to Europe....?

It’s an interesting question to consider. Lots of possible answers, none of which reflect well on our media or our politicians. And you’ll notice that for once nobody is urging you to think about the plight of Africa, not even mentioning it. Why, I wonder??

I'm guessing they didn't get the CDC memo to classify as many deaths as possible being caused by the Chinese virus. That, and many of these countries have sold their economic souls to China.

I'm more perplexed by India.

Exactly. They’re not counting every death as COVID and they’re not testing for it. They haven’t shut down their economies (such as they are). Also true about the “debt-trap diplomacy” ties with China.

I haven’t looked at India, I assume the figures are also low? Interesting.... is malaria common in India, I wonder?

Edit: I found at least part of the answer, they’re not testing for it. Testing rates about 1% of NYC rates. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries

That worldometers data is suspect, I believe. Much of it comes from sources that are relying on the same vital statistics organizations that are parroting the IHME garbage, or following the liberal definitions of COVID-19 deaths.

I do think some countries decided not to "play" the pandemic game...

just as a pragmatic measure, they might feel different about population reduction than us hayseeds.

Wondered about India too.

Maybe these countries don’t even have old people? Idk.

They’re not testing for it. Testing rate for India is about 0.5% the rate for NY.

Yes, that’s true. But when it’s famine or AIDS or climate change we in the West are all told to give a fuck (and give dollars, obviously). But with the Chinese virus suddenly it doesn’t matter any more....?

Fake News by omission.

I think that’s the correct answer. Which still begs the question - why isn’t it being covered in the media?

Malaria drug?

Yes, that’s one possible reason for sure. Another possibility - they’re getting it but just not testing for it. It’s not that big a deal in terms of death rates. In fact both those things could be true.

But isn’t it interesting how nobody is asking the question? Because those answers are both pretty explosive, wouldn’t you say?

If the death rate turns out lower than thought, they might have a lot of cases and not notice against other health problems.
