From a consumer perspective, believe it or not, I have had far far FAR less issues with the post office than I have with ups and FedEx.
UPS? Oh let me guess, they're on strike again. Seems like every time I drive by the large ups hub in my town there are employees outside protesting. If I don't want to pay something for shipping, I have it shipped next day air early am. I have never, not once, had something delivered on time nda early am. I know the truth, I'm way out of the way for ups and it's easier for them to reimburse my one single ups nda under the ups guarantee than it is to have the ups driver come to me and have to refund 50 NDA fees. Of course I call, they give me some vague bullshit excuse like weather, call the sender, and always get it refunded. Don't even get me started on all of the bullshit ups fees that ups loves to tag on when you ship something. I've been charged 4 different delivery area fees phrased slightly differently on the same parcel. I've paid $35 to ship a 6 ounce envelope ups ground.
But you know what? At least ups actually does deliver your package. FedEx never seems to be able to find me. Invariably if I order something, and they ship it FedEx, I always waste a day and have to go pick it up myself. Incomplete or incorrect address is the excuse I always see on the tracking. It's like FedEx only hires employees who can't think and have a strict ban on gps devices.
Meanwhile, USPS actually gives me a time window when my parcel will be there, and gets everything to me in no more than 3 days.
