All those people who died means there are less users taking bandwidth. :D

In all fairness, ATT, Comcast, verizon are not our friends. It took the threat of legislation to force them to stop sticking it to us.

In fact, if you compare how the internet is performing here in the U.S. to other countries that have more heavy-handed approaches to the internet, our internet infrastructure is showing a lot more resilience because the private sector was allowed to invest and build out without the overhang of those Obama-era rules

So ISPs having the ability to prioritize/route high bandwidth traffic and run an efficient network means less slowdowns? Who could have ever guessed?!?

B-b-but the firefighters!

(with their limited plan trying to use unlimited data and getting throttled in accordance with their contract)

If you look at what has happened since Net Neutrality was nixed, the claims that the ISP's would be blocking Netflix or Twitch or whatever haven't happened, at all. However, the big internet services like Google/YT, Facebook, Reddit, etc have totally ramped up their censorship like a crackhead on steroids. That was what real Americans were always worried about, not "muh Netflix" bullshit. Every one of those companies currently practicing blatant censorship were pushing for Net Neutrality. Communists love to name stuff the exact opposite of what it really is. "Democratic Republic of North Korea" for example.

The protections for that already exist we just need Trumptonian leaders to use them.

Publishers vs. Platforms

They have to pick one and only one.

Too bad none of us can use it since we're all dead.

Net Neutrality was a Netflix subsidy. It forced peering at a time when 60% of all traffic was from Netflix servers. Peering started as a voluntary agreement between two networks that traffic would flow freely across them. Networks would only agree to peer if the traffic was roughly 50/50 in both directions. Almost no one has 50/50 traffic with Netflix. So Net Neutrality forced small networks to peer with Netflix and carry their traffic for free. In practice it was all just a subsidy for Netflix.

I don't know how they measured speed. But, the competition among ISPs has been beneficial to me.

Since the repeal, my ISP doubled my "last mile" speed while my contract was still in effect. And when I renewed, they offered me a 5X speed upgrade for another $10/month. Only a couple of years ago, that highest speed would have cost me about $200/month more.

Not a repeal but gutting the FAKE version of Net Neutrality....

And now on December 14th 2017, the Federal Communications Commission voted to restore the longstanding, bipartisan light-touch regulatory framework that has fostered rapid Internet growth, openness, and freedom for nearly 20 years. https://www.fcc.gov/restoring-internet-freedom

It took this long to Vote restore the (light-touch) because paid protesters and trolls were resisting...

Because as with every democratic bill they push, the name is exactly opposite of what it entails.

All the smoothbrains persuaded by the NN shills on reddit will probably never even hear about this, and will die believing the repeal of NN was a bad thing.
