No countersource for you but you can ask were the patients given hydroxychloroquine which has fewer side effects or were they given chloroquine which has more? What doses were they given (i.e., were they given high dose which would obviously bring about side effects more quickly?) Was this treatment given in combination with azithromycin, which has even more cardiac side effects than chloroquine?

Also, no drug is without side effects so you can ask, even if two people in the study had fast heart rhythms, does that miniscule amount of patients who suffered side effects outweigh all the many patients who were clearly helped by this treatment?

I don't know but fast heart rhythms can be tolerated by someone with a strong heart. Fast heart rhythms are better than a shut down lung because then it is bye bye. Or a cytostorm of auto immunity.

There is no cure without a cost.

Edit: It appears the heart problems occurred with a high dose, 600mg daily, and not at a lower dose, 250mg daily. Fine, use a lower dose. It is still a good drug.
