How's your unemployment website? Last I heard in CT the thing keeps crashing and claims submitted in Mid-March have still yet to be processed. Luckily they are on it, trying to find COBOL programmers to fix the mess.
The sad ass part is this is probably true. I knew a guy in CT that was a COBOL programmer for the state up til about about 10 years ago. I’m sure they haven’t upgraded, bankrupt POS state.
I know someone who worked in the IT Dept in a large insurance company in Hartford. The state would occasionally try to poach COBOL programmers to help fix the states mess. Many refused as they quickly realized that unlike their fully documented systems the state had a 30+ year old system with little to no documentation on what had been done to it. They were told "we need the system to do X, which it doesn't do now, figure it out."
I know COBOL. I was able to log into the Michigan Unemployment Website, I was able to apply yesterday it only took about three hours. Three Hours. The site was barely responding, I suspect they were doing manual interventions to the server as well as individual on individual accounts. I spent many years in the hosting business.
Today I logged back in to check and my claim was DENIED, I'm a independant contractor, the Feds gave the state money for people like me, but Democrats hate people who are independant. It only took about three hours to file a challenge to the Denial.
Please pray for Michigan. Half a million people are going to drive to the Capitol building tomorrow at Noon and honk their horns.
And create a traffic jam! I wish you guys were removing your Governor from Office, physically. Better yet, I wish we all were, at the exact same moment. Have them stand trial as mass murderers. Not every Wuflu death is preventable via Trump pills, but most are. And we have plenty of HCQ. The most murders a mass murderer has ever been convicted of in the US is 8. How many Governors are responsible for fewer than 8 preventable deaths via denying Trump pills to people unless they're already in the hospital?

I want McConnell to add an amendment to then next bill to require every Hydrochloroquine pill produced must be colored Red.
