CITIZEN Voter ID, centipedes

Bernier4Canada 28 points ago +28 / -0

You have to show your ID to vote up here in Canada.

Doesn't your left like to use Canada as a role model? Flip that shit on them.

"Canada has voter ID, why can't we?"

Pappy_Gunn 8 points ago +8 / -0

...and you can add: "Look at their Prime Minister! He's a feminsist! And he's got nice hair and voted for the Paris accord!!!"

Plazma10 3 points ago +3 / -0

We have voter ID in Canada? Since when?

3
Pappy_Gunn 3 points ago +3 / -0

Since always. You have to show photo ID to vote

3
27Sandino 3 points ago +3 / -0

You have to show any piece of government recognized id, not voter id

1
Plazma10 1 point ago +1 / -0

That's just ID. I always wondered if someone showed up with a piece of mail and a license if they'd be allowed to vote. And who would check to follow up?

1
27Sandino 1 point ago +1 / -0

I believe you need your personal ballot which is mailed to you if you're a citizen (I'm not exactly sure how the list works?), and your picture id.

Not sure what would happen if you tried another approach there may be exceptions.

Trudeau changed the rules with Bill C-71. Essentially someone without proper ID can have somebody vouch for them at the polls by filling out a form.

Everything is documented and seems all well and good, but in the text of the bill, the voucher need only vouch that the person is a resident , not a citizen. Theoretically those who vouch could be organized in advance in key ridings.

That and there were the reports of voter registration cards being sent to PRs and other non citizen residents.

Then there was the fact that the Liberals somehow squeezed a minority government out of the whole shitshow that was their majority. With Toronto going full red, and somewhat well off swing ridings like my own having double digit leads over the cons.

But yes, we have voter ID so that's good at least. Still, the last election stunk to high heaven.

Common sense is too logical for Demorats. They want to abuse the election system. Even if they lose the presidency it'll prepare them for 2024 and all the state governments for democrat take over.

If it were just Democrats, we'd have voter ID. But it's Democrats plus the Uniparty. Just as both parties want a wide open border. That's why Trump has been so massively attacked and opposed. He's going against both parties.

Lassosummoner 8 points ago +8 / -0

Dead people and illegals had to vote for Hillary to see off Bernie. Nevada and Arizona good examples.

18
Zadok 18 points ago +18 / -0

You don't need voter ID, when the outcome is known in advance.

15
ohheyitsherbyj 15 points ago +15 / -0

Yeah, cause they're all racist. Hahaha CHECKMATE BLUMPHKIN. - Some libtard, probably.

Alztec24 15 points ago +15 / -0

Every other country on Earth is less important than America. We don't just need Voter ID, we need to completely revamp our system. Remove mail in voting from all jurisdictions and once everyone has cast their anonymous ballots we must film the entire counting process so as to deter manipulation.

Better than spending tax dollars on funding WHO. Honestly with how much red tape there is elsewhere with liberal programs, youd think voting would be lock and key tight. That would be too democratic for the Democrats though

That's the only reason Biden is ahead in all the polls. We all know it's a crock, but if they can manage to steal the election, they can just say look, Biden has been ahead in the polls all year.

India, a country where the average person earns a couple bucks a day and a country with a population north of 1 billion people, has strict voter ID requirements.

8
DankoJones84 8 points ago +8 / -0

How racist of you! Don't you know minorities are too dumb/poor to obtain IDs, bigot?

(this is literally the Dem talking point on the issue, for any who weren't aware)

Light_HIV_Effect [S] 7 points ago +7 / -0

Poor people are just as bright as white people

6
leakmouth 6 points ago +6 / -0

Even many shithole countries use voter ID

6
KekistanPM 6 points ago +6 / -0

Remember to tell all your left-wing friends: Don't let Putin steal the 2020 election too! Voter ID now!

6
WildCape 6 points ago +6 / -0

Including here in (South) Africa. You cannot vote without the official national photo ID - barcoded and scanned. It cannot be done. If you lost your ID days before the election, too bad, come back in 5 years. The poorest of the poor use their ID to vote.

Yes, but somehow, here, expecting to show a legit, American, ID to protect the sanctity of one of our most sacred rights is raaaaacist. Oh, the soft bigotry of low expectations.

Razeontherock 2 points ago +2 / -0

We have to utterly not care about their accusations of racist, or anything else. We have principles to uphold. This isn't just tradition, it's survival.

Even the far left foreign idiots on Reddit are shocked we have no Voter ID.

3
Huller 3 points ago +3 / -0

Reminder: Democrats are the only people on the planet that oppose voter ID.

3
AmericaTheGreat 3 points ago +3 / -0

You know how Democrats always bitch about how "modern" countries have government aided healthcare and we don't? Can easily use that same argument against them with Voter ID. Also, if they say it's racist, ask them why, then you'll see who the real racist is. They assume black people can't figure out how to get an ID card. Now THAT'S fucking racist!

3
Butthurt 3 points ago +3 / -0

Hurrr durrr but every nation on earth has free healthcare

2
TheAussie 2 points ago +2 / -0

... and some countries ask Citizenship questions in their Census

2
MsAnthropic 2 points ago +2 / -0

To be fair: I work elections here in Australia, and you don’t need ID to vote. But you do need to prove citizenship to get your name on the voter rolls.

2
Awilen 2 points ago +2 / -0

In France we not only have ID, we also need to register to vote in any given election. We get delivered a Voter ID, and we need to present both ID and voter ID at the voting place, and sign the voting register. Your name is only in your town's register, reducing risks of double-voting.

What happens to the ballot boxes after voting though is still unknown to me.

2
Nomies 2 points ago +2 / -0

YES THEY DO

1
Throwawaycuzmeh 1 point ago +2 / -1

The same fucking people who want all money out of politics because “every vote should count the same” also have zero interest in making sure that vote is cast legally, by one citizen, counted correctly, counted once, etc.

The same people who claim Russia hacked our last election with some Facebook ads have zero interest in preventing tens of millions of south and Central Americans from voting in our elections.

1
Mrs_Fonebone 1 point ago +2 / -1

Even the tiniest do. It's the closest thing to universality we have.

1
the-new-style 1 point ago +2 / -1

I guess you're saying the UK isn't a major country!

We just give our name & address verbally at our designated voting place, no ID check.

4
rsiteaccounts 4 points ago +4 / -0

Same in Australia. No ID required, you just tell them your name / address and mark your name off the electoral role, and they hand you the ballot paper.

Voting is compulsory here.

Yeah ... I wouldn't use this argument even if it is true. It sets a bad precedent.
