Testing if they can remove our right to peaceful assembly. And so far they're getting away with it.

not in all states though

Jaqueso 35 points ago +35 / -0

My state of Arkansas did not make a stay at home order. Lefties are pissed, decent people are proud.

WinstonSmith1984 12 points ago +12 / -0

"Lefties are pissed"

The they should stay the hell at home. The rest of us have lives to lead

TheXthDoctor 4 points ago +4 / -0

I'm noticing people around here in Arkansas are becoming more active even without any pushing. Traffic has started to suck again.

This is only the beginning.

People will only do that when it's intolerable, not when their rights are trampled but they still have a job and sportsball.

14
WinstonSmith1984 14 points ago +14 / -0

"... but they still have a job and sportsball."

hmmm

2
Fabius 2 points ago +2 / -0

Haha. Exactly.

If I were the government, I would be very, very careful right about now.

1
WinstonSmith1984 1 point ago +1 / -0

I agree.

Probably why we are not in Government. Generally the more power one gets, the less cautious one feels the need to be. Another great reason for term limits

Well, they're already rescinding your 1A.

27
CQVFEFE 27 points ago +27 / -0

They've already removed or massively infringed:

  • freedom of speech

  • freedom of religion

  • freedom of assembly

  • freedom to petition the government for redress of grievances

  • right to keep and bear arms

  • freedom to be outside your home

"Expressing your first amendment rights is non-essential activity."

At least their not trying to hide it anymore.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

We need to start fixing this shit on a local level. Get involved in your city, maybe even run to be a council member. We need to make sure the Constitution is upheld in every state, county, city, and town

5
WinstonSmith1984 5 points ago +5 / -0

Congress shall make no law with respect to the tarring, feathering, or roping of elected local officials, nor prevent the free exercise thereof.

6
CQVFEFE 6 points ago +6 / -0

BLM

ANTIFA

MUSLIMS

METOO

None of these groups would be restricted from gathering

Where are they all?

(Besides the islamics...we know they're packed into mosques in every state of our union, butt-cheek by jowl, nostril to toenail fungus, chewing away at that magic carpet and worshiping that culture of islamic supremacy, which is to say oppressive violence, intolerance, slavery, pedophilia, xenophobia, sexism, racism, misogyny, religious bigotry, and overall misanthropy in the name of subjugating every single human on earth forever under their boot of dictatorship...but these are minor details)

Not Essential?, the government is non-essential.

12
AtRealDonaldTrumpFan 12 points ago +12 / -0

Lol. The Supreme Court has determined that you cannot measure the amount of harm caused to someone every second you violate their constitutional rights... this will be an interesting legal battle which unfolds here.

  1. Be polite and respect police and let them know you will respect them at all times.

  2. Know your rights and express that you dont want them violated.

  3. Call a lawyer.

5
UpTrump 5 points ago +5 / -0

Why should you respect the tyrannical police here? They are just "following orders." Where did ya last hear that?

-5
deleted -5 points ago +5 / -10
15
AtRealDonaldTrumpFan 15 points ago +15 / -0

I was giving wise advice on how to sue the town for millions of dollars. If you didnt understand that that was the point of my comment, that is on you.

Hint: Mentioning that thing at the top about the Supreme Court as I did was hinting that there are punishments and consequences for violating our rights.

I have successfully stood up against the cops irl many times. They threatened to violate my rights, i told them why they were wrong, i won in the end.

If you forget that We are on the winning side still, and instead look for violent revolution you might find that you overturn the system that recognizes your rights rather than reinforce it, and then where will we be?

By the way, there are things the police could do which would require free citizens to shoot back instead of being arrested in the moment and then get to laugh in court in the faces of those officers as a Judge explains to them that they were the one breaking the law that day... this isnt that moment, in my opinion.

If you respect the police AS they seek to do things which would violate your rights, you can stop them from doing that, or you can make them lose their jobs, funding, and be shamed nationally in court.

If you just want a war, you may find out that you are fighting some of your best potential allies against a future totalitarian takeover. Most cops love guns snd freedom, and if you take the long view of potentially having to fight a war against a totalitarian state, you might start by recruiting them instead of justifying a view in their minds that you are a legitimate enemy.

Officer boot licker needs to get told that our rights don't end because of a overblown virus fear.

10
Keiichi81 10 points ago +10 / -0

the protestors have been asked to leave.

Good thing that, as an American citizen with the the freedom to assemble and the right to protest enshrined in the Constitution, I'm free to ask the cops to suck my dick with the same degree of authority.

-1
sir_rockness -1 points ago +1 / -2

yeah and if you act like that you are dehumanizing them just like the left dehumanizes us.

Keep that in mind. You can stand up for your rights, defend your ground, but still treat people like they are human. Many of these cops have families and they are between a rock and a hard place... they have to feed their families and they've never been in situations like these before.

2
Keiichi81 2 points ago +2 / -0

Sorry, no. The police exist to "protect and serve" the community and uphold the constitutional law of the United States. If a cop decided to put his proverbial (or not) boot on my proverbial (or not) neck, it doesn't matter one whit to me whether they're "just following orders" out of fear of taking a stand against unjust orders. They clearly don't value my rights and freedoms enough not to put the boot to me, so what of theirs should I value?

Excuse me? "The same tactics?" Do you see me out handing fines to police officers I see sitting on public benches, or arresting police officers who I see congregating in groups larger than 2? No, you fucking don't, so take that bullshit and shove it up your ass.

Speaking of shoving things up your ass, your preferred tactic when being fucked in the ass is apparently to think about the position your ass-fucker might be in and how they might not want to be shoving their dick up your ass but were simply instructed to do so by someone else, so best to simply let them continue and tell them how you hope your asshole isn't uncomfortably tight for them.

A lot of cops walking in lock step with these rouge red coat politicians better find a new career path. Just following orders as a civilian employe just doesn’t get it.

3
Parkyr413 3 points ago +3 / -0

I called the Raleigh PD, they are just putting it back on the Governor. Saying that they will enforce the executive order which the governor can “issue to protect the people’s health.” We must contact the NC governor.

In the governor's opinion, protesting him is non essential. How convenient.

I'm sure the CCP and Kim Jong Un feel the same way.

There's a reason the First Amendment doesn't have an "unless there's an emergency" exemption.
