What a stupid fucking retard Maxine Waters is
Just as stupid as the 2 representatives right now that introduced a bill for 2k/month for all Americans
Entitlement programs that only Americans can access are a brilliant way to squeeze the illegal population...as long as we dont lose too much in the transfer it could work out. Economy will inflate to meet the new income, but only Americans will have the income to survive the new economy.
It's not too brilliant for the retiree/fixed income people. How about we just give people help who need it.
One big issue with basic income is that its amazingly inefficient. Even with Yang Buck style distribution - you lose alot of wealth just printing out the checks. But the taxation that funds it - that's where you see massive losses.
I'd be surprised if a yang buck scheme even met a 50% efficiency. The government is not great at providing these numbers but I remember reading welfare was close to 30%. All the money welfare pays out is lost collecting the money and deciding who gets it - and giving it to them. And its a very straightforward distribution. Regular pork is way worse.

In the US you can deposit via app by taking pics of front and back, and then the check (or cheque for our neighbors across the pond) is yours to do what you want. You have to hold it for 3 days or so but after that, up to you.
