Obviously he did or he would have apologized to POTUS by now. Trump is still dealing with the negative fallout from having a Trump hater running the DOJ for his first two years. And all we get from Beauregard is, "I did a great job."
Has Barr changed immigration policy? (I'm out of this loop but learning that Barr was sabotaging Trump's immigration policies would be par for the course.)
He seems less personally committed to the issue than Sessions. His actions haven't been terrible, but the immigration courts under his direction are still processing every case rather than just deporting those who don't have legal standing. There are hundreds of thousands in the backlog so this plan can never work.
Sessions was making moves toward expedited deportations for anyone without standing. (All illegal immigrants in other words.)
And yet President Trump singled out immigration as an issue on which he was dissatisfied with Sessions. Don't get me wrong; I believe Barr is swamp. But if Sessions was great on immigration, why would POTUS go out of his way to smack him on it?
[Iirc, Sessions wanted every illegal invader to get a court date and see a judge. Trump just wanted them deported back across the border.]
I believe him. I'm sure he did exactly what he went there to do

Well, I miss his immigration policies compared to Barr.
Shame that the elf allowed Mitchell McConnell and Kevin McCarthy to intimidate him into recusing.

Haha--reminds me of a random thought I had.
Trump has endorsed Tommy Tuberville.
Maybe Sessions can get Rosenstein to endorse him/Jeff.
