I'm looking for better images, but the news report I linked is better for grasping the scope of the protests. God bless you.

ToTheFarWest [S] 9 points ago +9 / -0

I posted it below, a link to a news clip

Marshall 19 points ago +19 / -0

If you look closely, the people on the courthouse steps were waiving the TEXAS flag. We have a great Governor, but some of the local County Judges are nuts.

I went to Lowes to look at blinds, but I couldn't go in with my sister. But if it were a stranger it would be OK. What difference does it make as long as we practice social distancing?

I don't blame them. I blame the Judge that came there to make the threat personal.

8
Averon 8 points ago +8 / -0

How do we go about removing these county judges that make unconstitutional decrees?

4
Mexicola1976 4 points ago +4 / -0

Bring Woody Harrelson's father back to life.

2
Marshall 2 points ago +2 / -0

In Texas, it's the election ballot. The problem is, the Judges have considerable control over the election process. That's how they remain entrenched.

15
StunLikeAnAntelope 15 points ago +15 / -0

... but... there is no one to block. That's the point of the protest. And they are also not allowed to physically congregate outside their vehicles.

If you ask me, this protest is a clever way to exploit the government's own rules against them.

10
LeFromage 10 points ago +10 / -0

Hint: People were going to work back then, so blocking roads with human bodies for a pet cause was non-nonsensically anti-social, and not directly connected to anything to do with the traffic being blocked. Now it's about freedom itself. It's about the ability to go to work at all. The cars are the safest way to protest en masse.

3
AlohaSnackbar 3 points ago +4 / -1

Wait, you'd March willingly into an oven because the prison camp guard told you to? It's a bill of RIGHTS, not motherfucking permissions. RIGHTS. We have the right to peacefully assemble. Those that would infringe upon those rights should do so at their own peril.

The people should not be afraid of the government. The government should be afraid of the people.

Slight edit:. THEY'RE TELLING US GETTING OUT OF THE CAR IS ILLEGAL. WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK WE'RE GODDAMN PROTESTING HERE?

-2
trump_utah -2 points ago +2 / -4

Straw man. Nobody is being forced into prison camps.

The guy I replied to is saying it's "good he doesn't live in Raleigh", implying that conditions right now are enough for him to "exercise his Second Amendment rights" a.k.a. shoot a cop.

Nobody is out shooting cops, so clearly he's just a radical on the internet.

Here's a clip from the local news explaining the situation

39
Farnsworth 39 points ago +40 / -1

That first reporter kept touching his face to adjust his mask haha! I think masks are more dangerous than not wearing a mask because it causes people to touch their face. I see it everywhere I go.

17
Block_Helen 17 points ago +18 / -1

Same amount of dangerous either way. Which is like next to none.

15
deleted 15 points ago +16 / -1
13
thuggishruggishtrump 13 points ago +13 / -0

I'm not wearing those damn masks anymore, I never wore something on my face so uncomfortable in my life, the longer I wore it, my nose started getting stuffy, fuck that shit.

Thankfully all of this nonsense is almost over.

11
NuclearDreams 11 points ago +11 / -0

I refuse to wear one. This is just like how everyone responded to 9/11. Gave up their freedom and now let they let themselves be X-ray scanned by some stranger every time they want to board an airplane. I've always operated on the principle of "if you start changing the way you live your life because of something like this, then you've let fear win." I have always been a healthy individual before the China virus, I expect to be a healthy individual after. I won't wear a mask.

4
luke21 4 points ago +4 / -0

Nobody complained about the TSA. Now they want us to wear face coverings like Muslims.

-5
deleted -5 points ago +2 / -7
5
NuclearDreams 5 points ago +5 / -0

Yeah so I should wear something uncomfortable and annoying everyday for the rest of my life on the slight chance that I might spread a germ to someone else?

Also if I have no symptoms like coughing or sneezing how do I spread the disease exactly? I'm not running around rubbing myself then rubbing other people's arms. I'm not in the habit of coughing or sneezing in the direction of other people even if I am sick. Nobody ever gave a shit about the chances of spreading a potential flu virus to a family member or a stranger in the grocery market before. Why are we changing that behavior now?

0

christianknight 1 point ago +1 / -0

There are good ones like what they wear in Asia.

0

10
rooftoptendie 10 points ago +10 / -0

In my area, they told everybody to wear a mask. So I had to go out yesterday, and half the people had their masks hanging down around their neck, just rolling their eyes about it and obviously nonplussed at having to have one. It was hilarious. In some ways, I love my neighborhood.

7
NuclearDreams 7 points ago +7 / -0

Exactly what I've been saying. Also if you wear the same mask all day you're not making yourself any safer. The reason masks work in a sterile, hospital environment is because they put on the mask right before entering the room and then throw it away as soon as they exit the room, aka, no cross-contamination.

Same thing with everyone wearing fucking plastic or rubber gloves and not changing them out between customers. You're still cross-contaminating, the only difference might be that you won't contaminate yourself (which is unlikely unless these people are taking them off before they touch their face, which I haven't once observed).

Giving everybody PPE and expecting it to be useful without any meaningful training is like giving a monkey a blowtorch and expecting it will be safe because you gave him a welding mask as well.

25
Rainman 25 points ago +26 / -1

Whitless is an idiot. "We've seen the curve START to flatten" LIAR! The curve flattened in Michigan on April 7. Muh it's going to snow anyway so I'll continue to infringe on your rights...

17
SlickWillie 17 points ago +18 / -1

That one guy interviewed last nailed it on the head. Yes we need to be careful, but we need to get back to work. Otherwise, all we're doing is hiding from the virus.

7
Block_Helen 7 points ago +10 / -3

Of course we're hiding from the virus. This is what people want. Including lots of people on .win and so-called conservatives of my acquaintance. They LOVE all the NEW RULES.

7
SlickWillie 7 points ago +7 / -0

What I mean to say is that the virus isn't going to just go away just because we sit in fear at home.

1
Block_Helen 1 point ago +1 / -0

I hear you and I agree that we should go back to work. But the virus will go away, whether we go back to work or not. Seasonal outbreaks are seasonal. Yet another reason we should go back to work.

Step off with that racist crap. It's the DNC filling the ghettos with drugs and guns from south of the border. the rest is just domestics. Build the wall, crime will fall.

30
AlohaSnackbar 30 points ago +32 / -2

As it turns out, it wasn't the drugs, the ghettos, or the guns. Those are all side effects of the true cause. A lack of fathers. The left created a welfare system that destroyed black families by penalising fathers in the home. Study after study shows the number 1 predictor of criminal behavior is gender, but after that it isn't race, education, or poverty. It is whether or not there are 2 parents in the household.

0
axrevolutionai 0 points ago +1 / -1

93 per cent of black victims were killed by blacks and 84 per cent of white victims were killed by whites.

Like I said earlier, it's domestics and gang related violence.

Someone else also said the key factor is lack of two parents, another seed sowed by the Democrats!

The more blacks walk away the more we'll see this change, have faith, men can only accept being chained so long

Umilmi81 7 points ago +7 / -0

She overstepped reasonable action when she banned "non-essential" items. She's not wise enough to define what's essential and what's not essential. She clearly put no thought into the expansion of the ban and is simply acting impulsively rather than being contemplative. All the hallmarks of a low IQ puppet installed into office by behind the scenes power brokers.

1
NotInFormation 1 point ago +1 / -0

She clearly put no thought into the expansion of the ban

Nope. Quite intentionally smashed down on rational behavior (home improvement, churches, fishing, escaping hellholes) and left stupid behavior (liquor stores, pot shops, lottery) alone.

It already tried to stop 2A and was forced back. Thankfully also there's a part of the emergency law (of 1945!) that keeps it from trying a gun grab or it'd be a hot protest already.

6
dgrease23 6 points ago +7 / -1
