The Taiwan issue needs to be resolved. What even is China's strategy? They want to put on a Global image of Chinese prosperity in a bigd to win the Hearts and Minds of the Taiwanese? They want to be treated as a developed Country, but not on trade? Why on Earth would any businessman want to do business with a state that doesn't respect IP? There will be a day when China comes knocking at the door asking for forgiveness, but they sure aren't making themselves look too good by dismissing legitimate American grievances. Its a great think to alleviate a large segment of people out of poverty and create a sense of pride, but why are they taking that sense of pride and now wielding it as hatred of Westerners? I like to be an optimist, but this situation is making me increasingly nervous. Isolationism may be the way forward.
