BTW if you like sim City or star craft, you should try the civ games, very fun and addicting. You can play many different ways, but the satisfaction you get building a nation from nothing (literally cavemen) and taking it to a world power is awesome.
Civ 3 is really outdated graphically, but it's my favorite. Haven't played civ 6 yet though.
This came up when I googled "civ 3 linux" https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/civ-3-on-gnu-linux-with-play-on-linux.614975/ (looks a bit outdated). I don't play any of the Civilization games, but it looks like some people were able to get it to work.
