I swore Windows 10 would be my last MS OS because of the surveillance tech built into it. On my administrator account I had to add even more permissions to disable a background windows 10 update service that was secretly pinging MS servers. We have a name for that, it's called malware.
Swap to Linux. Control your computer. It's getting better support everyday.
I switched to Ubuntu a couple of years ago and don't miss it.
The only time I encountered a problem, was when I tried to download Civ 3 using Steam, for whatever reason that game in particular is not compatible lol
Now I just gotta fully migrate off the BS mobile OS systems.

This came up when I googled "civ 3 linux" https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/civ-3-on-gnu-linux-with-play-on-linux.614975/ (looks a bit outdated). I don't play any of the Civilization games, but it looks like some people were able to get it to work.
