They didn't fight for slavery. The big majority of the Confederate soldiers could not afford a slave. They fought because of federal overreach. Anyone who beleives the civil war was fought over slavery needs a damn history lesson. Good old Abe himself was quoted saying (If I could prevent this war by keeping slavery. I would. If I could prevent it by freeing slaves. I would. If I could prevent it by freeing only part of the slaves. I would.) The liberal spin on the civil war is disgusting. Don't start trying to correct me until you have done a lot of research and studying.
