I get what you're saying but it would have been much easier and believable for them to just spray it in a wet market and have all the evidence pointing to that.

It's a shitty bioweapon though. Infectivity isn't superb. It can't be easily transferred between humans and common animals. It's not particularly hardy outside the body. It doesn't affect the majority of people severely. And on top of it all it's curable.
Unless your only criteria for something being a bioweapon is that it is some kind of "living" thing, I don't find that label compelling. At best it's a component of a larger intelligence/propaganda tactic, and even then by convenience of it leaking in the first place.

For those who don't know, there was a legit study early on from some Chinese universities that concluded it most likely escaped from one of the nearby labs that were both researching coronaviruses & had the species of horseshoe bats on premise that are the resevoir of the Wuhan Coronavirus.
The reason for this conclusion is the bats are native only ~900 miles away from Wuhan, and they interviewed ~60 customers of the wet market and all confirmed that type of bat is not sold there.
The conclusion is obvious, it must have escaped or been released from one of the labs. Chinese work culture is not exactly known for strictly following safety rules, so this should not be a major surprise.
There were even reports that workers at Chinese animal labs have sold animals for consumption.

In 2004, a Chinese lab had SARS leak out of it. But the communist Chinese didn't try to infect the rest of the world with it, although maybe they did a year before that.
Deliberate attack or bioweapon lab to intern to guy to market, China unleashed this on the world and China and those collaborating with China must pay.

I’m sure at this point he can’t confirm it to the public, but he believes it and he’s privy to the intelligence and research that connected the dots.
