When trying to discern 'accidental' versus 'intentional' in the intro of this virus in the public - understand that Xi is now leader for life, i.e, dictator, of China. Most dictators these days are not living their days out in exile in a sunny country. The coup to oust many of them actually made sure that the dictator could never come back. Xi is no idiot, he knows that it's either him or Trump, and he will stop at nothing to keep his power and, in theory, his life. Trump has bested him on trade, economy, military, and other metrics. Xi is looking to put a fatal stab into the Trump administration's heart. There is nobody out there in Democrat world that could win against Trump's popularity, nor would he/she stand up to Xi as Trump does and Xi knows it. Xi will do anything at this point to unseat Trump. Releasing a virus is not beyond him.
