Because all of you "tax the rich" people think that taxing the daylights out of people who make $100k-$500k a year is the answer. It's not. Doctors, Lawyers, and other professionals of that nature are what make up our upper middle class. Taxing them relelntlessly only hurts the middle class further in this country.
The giant international corporations are the people you should really being going after if you want to tax people. However, if you raise their taxes, they will just funnel their money into offshore accounts that the US can't touch. Or they will start "charitable foundations" and other ways in order to become tax exempt. Any way they can launder money, they will.
So really, the answer is not to keep raising taxes til the end of time. Tax for whatever is necessary to keep the government running and able to protect our citizens rights.
Instead of letting giant corporations buy out Congress, they should be going after companies that become too large and monopolistic with Anti-trust laws. That way no one company gains too much influence over the government or the people.
But that's not happening. we have too many politicians that are influenced and paid off by these gigantic corporations that have sent all of their job overseas to make more money off cheap labor.

I now think there's atleast a 60% chance that the shit is going to hit the fan if things don't get better by May.
