I heard a story of some tourists in Israel who were being given a tour around the Old City of Jerusalem. Their tour guide was a Muslim, an Israeli Arab. As he was showing them the city, he would say things like: "This was King David's... there's an ancient synagogue that was here.... when the Temple still stood, this building was once...."
And a tourist stopped him. "Um, doesn't the Palestinian authority claim that there was no Temple and the Jews never lived in Jerusalem?
The tour guide shrugged. "Eh, that's just politics."
