They are the new priest class. And just like we learned with religion (I'm a Christian, BTW), it's not good for us to let such specialized classes run the show.

Scientists are too in love with their data and their processes. They don't even understand real-world applications. Or how their data can be limited, or even wrong.

It's like when the accountants or the CFO takes over a company that some genius entrepreneur built. They run it right smack into calamity, more often than not.

They never see the forest for the trees. They will lead us over the cliff, oftentimes with the best of intentions, but they are far too myopic to actually LEAD.
