Look at Switzerland's demographics, intelligence, culture, wealth, education and family structure. Like Vermont and North Dakota with a fairly high gun ownership rate but a very low violence by gun rate, it's not about the guns it's about the people who have them and their environment.

Now look at Chicago, look at the people who have them (often illegally), look at their culture of violence and crime, school dropouts, lower iq on average, look at their single parent broken homes, look at their self-inflicted poverty.

In 2016, the number of young black men killed by a firearm in Chicago was nearly 50 times the national rate

Chicago needs a Republican like Giuliani to get in there and clean that place up the way he did NYC.

I would wager close to 100% of the guns used in gang shootings are illegal. Legislation accomplishes nothing. They need to change the welfare state and restore the family unit.

I never understood why poor people rob other poor people or low rent convenient stores- maybe it's because they have a better chance of getting away with it. I always think of the age old question;"why do people rob banks? Because that's where the money is."

Because when I call the cops from my Highland Park house they're in my driveway in three maybe five minutes and those guys know me, they know what my wife looks like, we see them around town and we smile and wave. Those guys are primed to dropthegun or droptheknife someone right away.

You get a call from some MLK or Rosa Parks Boulevard the cops don't come at all.

edit: also, poor people are used to being robbed and know what the deal is. Rich suburbanites panic and do all kinds of stupid shit. It's a hassle.
